Every single time I see the ocean, even if I’ve been there in the morning, it feels like a new miracle—its power, its blueness always just as overwhelming. Like falling in love - Paper Palaces, Miranda Cowley Heller Whether it’s a spectacular sunset or a breathtaking pacific storm, the views are always dramatic and soul-lifting! 4 blocks from the beach in the quiet, picturesque Oceanside Village directly North of Netarts Bay. A truly unique way to experience the beautiful Oregon Coast. We've loved Oceanside since we moved to OR almost 2 decades ago and feel privileged to share with you what we think is the best kept secret on the Oregon Coast. Our thoughtfully updated and maintained Mid-Century Ranch is minimalist in design and furniture but fully stocked with every luxury we could think of to make the inside and outside comfortable, inviting and relaxing. Please do not book this property until you have read through this entire description and fully understand and are willing to respect the limitations of the space and feelt that we are the right host and property for your perfect beach vacation. The 1200 sqft house has 3 bedrooms, and 2 baths with spectacular ocean views from the living room, dining room, master bedroom, deck, hot tub and yard. There is a small portable firepit on the back patio if you want to grab a bundle or two of fire wood on your way into town and enjoy a night under the stars and off the sand. Our favorite part about the house is that even when it is windy at the beach, it is always warmer and less windy at the house so you can still enjoy the outdoors and ocean views from the hot tub, large deck, patio and yard. We have kids beach toys and a charcoal grill in the outside storage shed for your use and endeavor to keep charcoal, lighter fluid and matches on hand. We love to cook so there is a fully-stocked (albeit tiny) kitchen with a full set of good knives, serving and prep dishes and plenty of tools (insta-pot, blender, food processor, george foreman style indoor grill, whisks, coffee maker, french press, hand mixer, toaster, non-stick griddle, etc.). Of course we have crab crackers and picks and a crab pot. There is also a gas grill you can use if you promise to leave it clean:) There is hi-speed wireless internet. There are two flat screen smart TV's (1 in living room and one in master bedroom with access to Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime with additional HBO Max, Apple TV and Peacock subscriptions. Luxurious high thread count sheets and bedding and anti-microbial mattress and pillow covers to help keep things spotless. Comfortable natural latex mattresses throughout. The master has a king bed and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The middle bedroom has a queen bed and the 3rd bedroom we call the bunk room: It has a queen bed with a twin bunk bed. If you haven't guessed already, we have young kids, so the house is pretty kid friendly with a full set of dishware and cutlery and a pack and play. The beach has a beautiful cluster of rocks (Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Reserve) and is never crowded. Inaccessible for launching boats off the beach, it's the perfect, serene setting for anyone wanting to hear only the sound of the waves and experience an undiluted dose of the spectacular Oregon coast line. There is a coffee shop, a grill style restaurant that also serves coffee and pastries and the historic Roseanna's restaurant right on the beach - all three serve breakfast, only Roseanna's serves dinner. About 2 miles away in Netarts Bay, there are a few more restaurants, including the popular Schooner as well as 2 small grocery/markets that sells some staples, beer, wine, live oysters and live crab. The closest large grocery stores are the Safeway and Fred Meyer in Tillamook that are about 10 miles away in Tillamook, which you pass on your way to Oceanside. Pacific Seafood in Bay City, about 20 minutes north of Tillamook on easy into town is a huge market with freshest local catch and clam chowder. tjw It is only a 4 blocks walk or a very short drive (1/4 mile) down to the beach where parking is ample. As much or as little as you'd like:) but we want your stay to be perfect, so feel free to call us with any little (or big) thing. Seaview Ave is a quiet, dead-end street that is quiet and safe for little people, pets and drunk big people. The Village of Oceanside is a hidden (for now anyway) gem on the Oregon coast. With a ruggedly beautiful coastline, beautiful rocks off shore and fun beach to explore (don't miss the tunnel to the "secret" beach to the north and the amazing tide pooling). There is one lovely nicer restaurant and a couple of coffee shop/cafes, but the village is otherwise uncluttered with any touristy shops. It's all about the views and the beach here! Cell service in town and at the house is spotty at best, so we do provide a house phone that you can forward your cell phone to receive calls from the house as well as have use of the answering machine. We have excellent internet service at the house and if your phone has a wifi calling option (or there are apps you can download that allow this) then you're set to receive calls and texts. Netarts is a couple miles away and has a some more restaurants and a few markets which are reliable for basic groceries, ice, firewood, etc. The closest large grocery stores are Safeway and Fred Meyer in Tillamook. There is bus service from the west side of Portland metro area and a shuttle to Oceanside from Tillamook. If you're a cyclist, the three capes loop is about 40 miles in it's entirety and is a gorgeous sampling of Oregon coast views. This truly is a little village well off the beaten track. Cell coverage is spotty at best (most newer smartphones have wifi calling option that we enable when we are at the house - the wifi is really fast!) so there is a house phone with an attached answering machine for your use. House Rules/Limitations to note (if you fail to respect any of the property rules, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation at any point during your stay with no refund and to assess any additional cleaning or damage charges that might arise) 1. Parking: There is parking space for 2 small or medium vehicles at the front of the house (please see photo and caption), but please be sure to park as close to the house as possible to leave the road clear for neighbors. If you have a full sized truck or larger vehicle, you will not be able to park or access our street. There is more parking on the street below (Chinook Ave.) which is accessible from backyard area. All extra spaces and driveways belong to our wonderful neighbors and there is no access at any time, for any reason to use or block their spaces to load/unload, turn around, park, etc. 2. The max occupancy is 6 people: please respect this. There are 4 separate beds, but the upper bunk bed is over a queen bed, has low headroom and is only suitable for kids under 90lbs and 5' tall. 3. PETS: We do like to keep the house dog friendly on a limited basis with a strict maximum of 2 dogs at any given time with the following restrictions: -Only fully potty trained dogs that are at least 2 years old are allowed. No puppies or senior dogs with bladder control issues please. -We can only accept pets if you are able to keep your dog off the furniture and beds and kennel your dog (or keep them with you) when you are not in the house. Guest agrees to pay an additional cleaning fee for the sofa and the space and/or repair fees associated with failure to comply that will start around $500. Your pet must be able to be in the space quietly and comfortably when you are away (i.e. no excessive barking or jumping up on the furniture and they must be contained to one of the back bedrooms or a kennel) you will need to take them with you at all times -We understand that the rules above can be difficult, but we like to be able to provide higher quality furnishings and also do want to keep the house in good condition and accessible to our friends, families and guests with mild pet allergies by limiting the amount of fur and dander above floor level. -There will be a $50 charge from the cleaners if they arrive and you are still in the space even if it is only for a few minutes after check-out time. The charge will then be $50/every 15 minutes until you depart. They service many air b and bs in the area and are usually on a really tight schedule. But, also please don't hesitate to ask if you'd like an earlier check-in or a later checkout and we can find out if the cleaners can accommodate- the more notice the better! -There is a $100 additional pet fee, so please let us know when you make your reservation if you will be travelling with pets as you will receive a separate request for the pet fee. We do reserve the right to assess additional charges if all the pet waste is not cleaned up from the yard or there is pet hair on the furniture or bedding. Sorry for all the rules, but hopefully you get that we love to accommodate pets and their owners (we've had pets before and wouldn't have considered going to the beach without them!) but are committed to providing a clean, pet hair free experience for our non-pet owning guests as well. -Quiet Hours: No loud music or outside gatherings after 9pm -No additional guests or pet: not more than the up to 6 people on reservation and up to 2 dogs on reservation at any time on the property for any reason. No additional guests/pets permitted, even for short periods of time. MISCELLANEOUS HOUSE INFO: 1.Kitchen: the kitchen is very well equipped (we cook a lot!) in terms of equipment, but we have chosen not to supply much in the way of food items as it is hard to control how sanitary things stay.
