An Alternative Bohemian Modern stay in the Cotswolds- The Hidden House is a Brand New, Immaculate, Unusually Designed House inspired by the Industrial Past of Stroud. This listing is my jewel in the crown room - a large bedroom with superkingsize bed and huge private bathroom Please note that this is Home Hosted Accommodation. There are three rooms available- each under three separate listings. Max capacity of 5 (across all three rooms) The space Come and enjoy Hotel standard luxury and efficiency in a friendly home from home- home-stay. The Hidden House is a DOG FRIENDLY PROPERTY. Dogs over 6 months are allowed. Up to two dogs and subject to a separate £10 cleaning fee- payable on arrival. Please read house rules around dogs staying- prior to booking. BEDROOM: - Very Spacious - Super King-size Double Bed with soft fluffy pillows, white cotton linen sheets and comfortable duvet. - Chandeliers light the bathroom and bedroom together with soft bedside lighting. - Antique furniture- a Chest of Draws, Wardrobe Rail and a low Table for resting suitcases. Some of my furniture upcycling also adorns the space and provides a bespoke touch to the room. - Desk/ Chair (A wifi booster disc is in the room for strong wifi for those working remotely) - Armchair - Plenty of Power Sockets - Full Length Freestanding Mirror - Kettle and Tray with a selection of teas, coffees, mini wine, biscuits and sweets. ENSUITE BATHROOM: Next door to the bedroom and exclusively for private use is a huge luxury Bathroom Ensuite with the latest state of the art furniture fittings and antique furniture: - Rain shower and separate Power shower - Freestanding vintage style tub bath with hand held shower head and Bubble Bath - large mirror provides a backdrop to the Bath - Antique Georgian dressing table with mirror - Soft fluffy towels (guest towel, face towel and hand towel) - Heated Towel Rail - Shampoo, Body Wash - Hand Sanitiser - Mini Toothpaste - Beautiful views out to Rodborough from the bathroom and bedroom windows. GROUND FLOOR -Underfloor heating is installed throughout the ground floor of the house with central heating in the upstairs area where the bedrooms are. - The kitchen is available only for breakfast and for plating up take-away food (plates/ cutlery can be provided). - Basic self service breakfast of muesli/ cereals/ yoghurts/ fruit and toast provided and included in the room fee - Secondary vintage leather sofas seating area for chilling out next to kitchen - 18th Century Dining Table and Chairs - Quirky antiques/ art throughout. - Cloakroom Toilet GARDEN: - Private, contained and neat. It catches the afternoon sun and guests are welcome to sit outside for a bask. Enjoy a glass of wine in the alfresco casual dining area sited under a wisteria clad pergola and an upper sun deck with comfy reclining chairs (2) with a coffee table by a pond. In the summer, this area is the very last part of Stroud to lose the light as the house is south facing and located on the top of a hill. KITCHEN: Equipped with the latest 'state of the art' equipment, The kitchen is available for mid/ long term guests for prepping and cooking food. Short term guests can use the kitchen for a self service breakfast (provided). The kitchen comprises an oven/ grill, microwave, american fridge freezer- with fitted ice making and filtered water machine, dishwasher, warming drawer. Pots/ Pans, cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs are available for guests to use. UTILITY ROOM: Has a separate sink with a new condenser drier and separate washing machine. There is also an iron/ board and drying rack. Please discuss laundry needs with the host as this is subject to an extra charge. PARKING: - This room has a free dedicated off road parking space on the driveway. Guest access Bedroom/ Ensuite (private) Kitchen (for mid/long term guests only) short term guests can use the kitchen -but for a self service breakfast only/ Dining Room/ Secondary seating area (all open plan) Downstairs cloakroom toilet Garden During your stay I reside at the property and am more than happy to provide a ‘tea and cake’ welcome for guests, whilst respecting social distancing, and help them with information and ideas about the area to make their stay as fulfilling as possible. I have lived in London for 20 years as an Arts Event Manager/ Theatre Stage Manager and know all about the importance of solid customer experience- usually in arts venues. I am trustee of the Subscription Rooms (the local venue in Stroud) and like to keep tabs on all the interesting events happening in and around the area. I also volunteer for the local food bank and do arts courses in Stroud. My airbnb in London has taken in over 300 guests since 2014 and I have been a Super Host continuously for the last three years having received wonderful reviews. I am also on the Stroud Tourist Forum. Occasionally, I am away, but guests will be given self check in details if I am unable to check them in personally. Other things to note IMPORTANT - the walk into Stroud is approx 15 mins downhill for average fitness. The walk back from town is not a steep hill but its long and takes about 20-30 mins. Taxis or a Bus (number 8) are recommended for those guests less able bodied (I can further advise on this). Two Basset Hounds - 'Berkeley' or 'Barkers' and Gertie are in residence at the property. Berkeley is an adult male, is big, chilled out and very friendly- Gertie is under a year, very cheeky sociable but can get a tad over excited. They are not allowed upstairs in the day and sleep in my private living room at night. Please take note before booking if you have an issue with dogs, allergies or this particular breed. The dogs are free ranging downstairs and are very much a part of the Hidden House experience
