Description

On the 2nd floor (with elevator) of a period building, along the road that connects Piazza S. Domenico to the ancient port of Cala. Historic center but away from the nightlife scene. It consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 service with shower. In the room overlooking S. Maria la Nova, there is 1 double bed and 1 wardrobe. At the entrance there is 1 living room with sofa bed, kitchenette complete with utensils. Available: washing machine, hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, wifi, extra toddler bed The space The neighborhood has developed since the time of the Arab domination of the city, during which it took the name of "slave district", over time it took on a considerable importance hosting the so-called commercial "lodges". A short distance from the apartment are still visible the ancient foundations of the Arab settlement and the Sea Castle, and the churches where the communities of merchants gathered from what in the nineteenth century will be called "the Maritime Republics", Genoese, Pisans, Amalfi, Venetian, or far east, including: S. Giorgio dei Genovesi, Santa Eulalia dei Catalani, S. Andrea, protector of Amalfi. The commercial origin of the "mandamento" is attested by the name of the surrounding streets, which refer to the now disappeared crafts: Via dei Materassai, Via dei Tintori and is still kept alive by the presence of numerous silverware shops. A short distance away there is access to the famous "Vucciria", historically home to the commercial lodges and then market. Another historic market quite close is that of Ballarò. On foot you can easily reach all the historical and architectural evidence of the city; very pleasant is the walk along the Cala, the original port. Entirely recovered from degradation, it offers numerous solutions for relaxation and outdoor sports. Guest access The guest will be given the keys to the entrance door (video surveillance) and the apartment. At the time of check-in, there will also be a summary of the ZTL zone regulations (limited traffic zone), the calendar of separate collection (in case of long stays), the "guide of the Castellammare mandate", maps and leaflets of the old town with the indication of places of greatest historical interest and a review of the nearest restaurants and streets where you can taste the typical Sicilian cuisine. Other things to note The apartment is located within the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) of the Municipality of Palermo, but very close to the edge that develops from Piazza XIII Victime and along the Foro Umberto I (Foro Italico). Parking is pretty easy to find along these streets. Access to the ZTL is possible by paying a daily access. Private garages are available in the immediate vicinity for a fee and, if requested, will be reported by the host at check-in. In the vicinity there are numerous shops for the purchase of necessities, wide the choice of places of refreshment and leisure. Registration Details IT082053C2LRNDF5DJ
