Description
Fliskmillan Farm is off the beaten track but within easy reach of St. Andrews, Dundee and Perth, and only an hour from Edinburgh. The views from the farm across the Tay are stunning. There are beautiful walks right here and sandy beaches nearby. The Old Farm Office has been lovingly converted into a cosy and quirky holiday house, run entirely on locally generated renewable energy and designed for family holidays. For more details search Face Book for The Old Farm Office, Fliskmillan The space The Old Farm Office is part of the traditional stone-built farm steadings, retaining all the charm of buildings that are over 150 years old but renovated to modern standards. The open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room which comprises the whole downstairs (apart from the toilet and shower room) is ideal for spending time together. On the landing upstairs, there is a separate lounge room with TV. This room has space for a folding bed if required. It connects on to the master bedroom, with the second bedroom accessed through the master. This arrangement is perfect for families: the second bedroom is in a combed room above the arch, with Velux windows facing west up the Tay, taking in some of the most amazing sunsets you’ll ever see. (The windows have blinds so you needn’t be woken up at dawn.) It’s a brilliant holiday den for children, with two single beds. If it’s not family or close friends going in the second bedroom, do bear in mind that it is only accessed through the master bedroom. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Renewable electricity is supplied by a 20kW wind turbine on the hill, with a green tariff from Ecotricity for when the wind isn’t blowing. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. There are so many fantastic strolls right here, the farm is right next to the Fife Coastal Path and there are fabulous beaches nearby. If you have horses, please bring them too but give us a call beforehand so we can make sure we have all the facilities you need. There are a couple of paddocks, a field shelter and loose boxes, space to park a horsebox and, of course, plenty of places to take them. If you or friends have a campervan or caravan, there is a large area of hardstanding adjacent to the holiday house, which you can use, so friends or family can stay outside but share the more spacious and civilised facilities inside.
