Colonial country house with atrium

On the local beach of Dodnaduwa (near Hikkaduwa) is our quietly located house in a large garden with palms and exotic plants. The natural sandy beach is a few minutes' walk away (about 10 minutes – 800 m). Long-term rentals are of course also possible. On the extensive sandy beach of Hikkaduwa you will find many small beach bars, seafood restaurants and hotels with swimming pools that can be used for a fee. We (Sriyani and Siegfried) live in Germany and also use this house ourselves to take a vacation there, in the rest of the time we like to rent it to nice guests. The caretaker lives with his small family in a separate cottage in the garden and can cook for you on request or prepare a local breakfast. Such breakfast costs €3 per person. (540 Rupees) Our guests have complete privacy to experience a wonderful holiday with friends and family. Feel free to ask us for cheap monthly or even annual discounts if you are planning a longer stay with us. Bed sheets and towels are always available. The property is located on a side street that leads to the "Colombo-Galle" coastal road. The house has two spacious double bedrooms, a single room, three bathrooms and a bathtub located in the garden, there is also a shower cabin. Hot water is produced with solar energy. All rooms have fans, the beds are equipped with mosquito nets. Tip: The "mosquito time" in the region is from 4 – 5 pm, during this time please wear something long-sleeved! The rooms are equipped with antique lovingly restored furniture. The kitchen is spacious, with a large fridge, gas cooker, toaster, kettle and blender. There is an open fireplace where you can also cook traditionally with wood. Upon your arrival, our friendly caretaker, the most important groceries (toast, butter, eggs, drinks and fruit) will be provided for you. He will be happy to assist with further purchases and questions. In the garden you can watch exotic birds, butterflies, iguanas, monkeys and in the evening hours also flying. The nearby lagoon can be traversed with a catamaran and enjoy beautiful nature. An old temple worth seeing is in the immediate vicinity. The historic city of Galle (20 km away) can be easily reached by bus or train. On request, a driver with a safe car is also available for you: For round trips, excursions or the ride to or from the airport (e.g. drive airport: duration 2.5 hrs / costs: 9.500 Rupees / approx. 60€).
