Cozy Private Cottage in a country setting. A retreat to recharge the soul. Two miles from Hwy 50. Ideal for 2 people, 1 Queen bed, bathroom with large shower. Mini fridge, Microwave. WIFI. Smart TV. A/C and heat. Patio with the decorative pond and waterfall. Close to historic downtown Placerville, Coloma/ Marshall Gold Discovery State Park . Wineries, Apple Hill, cut your own Christmas Tree at numerous Tree Farms, World Class Rafting, Kayaking. It is 1 hour to Skiing/Snowboarding. The space We are located 2 miles from Placerville in a country setting. There are no street lights, however, our patio lights stay on until midnight. The flagpole light is on all night but is a considerable distance from the cottage. The lone horse we have, Gentry, is very friendly but pleaseask to see or visit withher.. The chickens live in our orchard and patrol it very well. Fortunately, we DO NOT have a rooster. If you want to visit the horse or chickens please ask. If you go through any gates please close them as the horse and chickens will escape. . We are here to answer any questions and hope you enjoy your stay. Guest access You are more than welcome to wander the property and enjoy. Currently Gentry is the only horse on the property. The chickens in the orchard are entertaining. If you go into the pasture or orchard please close the gate to prevent Gentry and chickens from escaping. A flock of wild Turkeys and quail wander through frequently, as well as deer. The walk down Beals Road (approximately 2 miles round trip) is an interesting walk. Our part-time dog has moved on with her owner. She shows up occasionally and promises lots of friendliness. The pond and waterfall brings a two fold enjoyment. Along with the serenity, the variety of birds that come to the pond can be very interesting and they vary with the season. In the evening the gold finches, blue birds and other "locals" come to get their baths. So if you are sitting by the pond around early evening you may be scolded by these birds, after all it is bath time. We have a smart TV. Tired of watching movies? Try our old time radio complete with old time radio shows, like the Green Hornet, Amos and Andy, Jack Benny. Check them out and enjoy your stay. Other things to note I am a 5th generation resident of El Dorado County. We will be more than happy to assist in answering any questions about the area. We have a restaurant guide available for the Placerville and Coloma/Lotus area. Two Wineries, Gold Hill (also a brewery) and David Girard Vineyards are within 4 miles of the cottage.
