It’s detached from the house, so it’s totally private and serene- perfect for a cozy lake life getaway, writers retreat, or fishing trip. Your private bathroom (during your stay it will be for your use only, on your semi private floor), shared laundry, and lounge is in the house, 60 steps away. The space The cozy cottage guest room is finished tastefully with white woodwork and galvanized touches. The bed is a full size pillow top mattress with upgraded linens and a choice of pillows for your comfort! In it there are all the amenities that you’ll need-streaming and local TV, internet, desk, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and mini fridge with a few surprises for you inside. The cottage itself is similar in size to a bedroom under the stars, but don’t forget the deck and the whole outdoors and all that is available there. The cozy cottage is nestled in nature, and along with the plentiful wildlife, we have many extras available to help you enjoy it. The property is 3+ acres on a beautiful all sports lake near Prior Lake, MN. Area lakes besides this one, Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs and Event Center and Valley Fair are less than 10 minutes away- and Mall of America only about 35 minutes. Enjoy the serenity of a lake acreage in this clean and cozy private, detached guest room cottage. Fire pit and free firewood are available for guest use. There will be a few light snacks in the cottage for you, and you have access to a grill you can use on your own private paver patio. Guest access Cottage guest room with its own deck is private and will be for your use only. Fire pit paver patio will be private while you are using it. Your private bathroom is in the house. Lower level will be mostly private- except we occasionally walk through the lower level to use laundry room, exercise room, and exercise equipment located down there (we will try and use it when you are not around). Your house access will be from lower-level door keypad (separate and private entrance). At all times, you will have to walk about 60 steps up a small knoll to access house amenities and bathroom, and up a short outdoor staircase to access your vehicle. **************MANDATORY********* ———Please read and understand: This is a mandatory part of our booking process—— *We require a valid government ID from each guest sent to us via the Airbnb app immediately after booking from both the booking party and your guest. Our short term renter’s insurance requires this information and we are required to submit it within 4 hours of booking. We also require a valid government ID loaded to your Airbnb profile, a selfie, a current and valid form of payment and a phone number on their site. We ask you kindly to please check all the requirements before booking- we are happy to explain and walk you through it, but we are on a countdown and the property is subject to booking by others during the process. This is the procedure that Airbnb requires us to follow to collect this information, and thus we are unable to waver from it. Please note THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE and we ask that you do not book here if you aren't willing to submit a picture of the front and back of you and your guest's valid ID to us, the hosts, via the app immediately after booking and have the proper documentation for Airbnb verification, as well. Access to the property will not be granted unless the above requirements are met. Thank you for your understanding* During your stay After our ID verification and waiver process, we will give you check in instructions 24 hours prior to check in, ask a few questions in order to prepare the cottage for you, but other than that- we will leave you alone! PLEASE READ: For insurance liability purposes (yours and mine!) all persons staying on this property MUST provide a government ID to the host upon booking. A government ID, phone number, valid and current form of payment and selfie profile picture loaded onto the Airbnb site is also required in order to book here. Airbnb does not share this information with us (selfie is not shown until after you book). Please note that neither Airbnb nor I accept third party bookings (meaning, you may not book for someone else, if you yourself will not be staying). I welcome each and every one of you to be my guest, and strive to make each stay comfortable and relaxing. This is a requirement of my liability insurance, and part of my self-check in process. Other things to note: We reserve the top floor of the main house for our family and living area and ask that you let us keep that private. (House is a 4 level split and by top floor we mean the 4th floor). * The kitchen is not available for guest use, but we are happy to provide filtered water, a dishwashing option in our laundry room, and help with anything else. Please just ask.* * we rent to a total of two guest aged 23 plus only. No guests under 23 are allowed at our rental. At ALL times you will have access to the bathroom, family room, and laundry. Other things to note This property is located 3.5 miles south of the Prior Lake, MN. McDonalds and 2 blocks off of Hwy 13. Guest cottage heating system is a small space heater. In early spring and as we go into fall (late September into October, particularly late October) it does get cool in the early mornings and late nights. The space heater will keep the chill off, but if you are particularly sensitive to the cold, or aren't really looking for a rustic experience, this might not be the best time of the year to visit us. The cottage is closed during the winter. Cooling system is a window air conditioner, or screened windows and screened sliding glass door and a small fan. This disclaimer and notice is required by Airbnb: We do all we can to protect your safety and privacy while you are here, as well as our own. We have a fully functional, legal, ethical, and Airbnb disclosed security system in our home, similar to what you’d find in your own, or any hotel. There are security cameras located in the doorways of the HOME, giving views of the yard, doorways and parking area. We also have cameras in our home's private, off limit (to guests) areas. These are required by our short term rental insurance and required by Airbnb if any claims are made by either party. No pets. Any guests arriving with undisclosed pets will be asked to board their pets or leave immedietly. On July 4th you don’t even have to go anywhere for fireworks! From the cottage deck and from the end of the dock on July 4, and other special events, you can see all kinds of fireworks- usually the city of Prior Lake, Valley Fair (when open), and Mystic Lake Casino’s. We currently still have dates open that would allow you to stay and attend many fun fall events in the area such as Junk Bonanza, concerts in many local venues, and the Renaissance Festival- all very close. Please look through all of the pictures, and read the captions. They are recent and accurate and contain important information about our listing. There is no lake access from our property. BUGS! We don't like them, either. This is a semi-outdoor experience. We have bug spray and a citronella candle, but this is Minnesota, and we are lakeside. We treat for bugs inside and outside the cottage and have never viewed it as a problem, but please be aware you’ll be choosing a semi-rustic experience, and you may see a bug or two, along with our resident albino squirrel, and if you’re lucky, maybe our woodchuck friend and almost definitely members of the the bunny family. We leave the outdoors alone here for the most part and enjoy being in nature, with all that brings.
