Description
A newly built "tiny cabin" on 125 acres of Ozark fields and forest. Designed for those who want to sample a simpler life. Hike in our woods, ride bicycles, view wildlife, enjoy a bonfire and star gazing, or relax on the porch or in a hammock. The cabin is equipped with everything you need for your cabin experience, including a cooking supplies, linens, bath house and composting toilet. The cabin was originally built to be off-the grid, but now has electric, heat, ac, and a wood stove! The space The cabin was built in a shaded walnut grove on the Old Missouri farm. It was designed for those who want to sample a simpler life. It is a great place to relax, slow down, and unwind. There is no Wi-Fi or "running" water, BUT - we equipped the cabin with everything you need for your "tiny cabin" experience: comfortable beds with fresh linens, bath towels, soaps, a full stocked cabin kitchen (seasonings, cooking oil, coffee, tea, cocoa, dishes, pots and pans, camp stoves and grills), small refrigerator, small TV, and more. We provide guests with 15 gallons of fresh filtered water for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes. More water is readily available to refill containers down the road from an outside hydrant. We have a propane system to heat the shower house and shower water. We also have a new, modern composing toilet (much better than an outhouse). . The cabin was originally designed to be off the grid, but we recently added electricity, heat and AC. For those chilly nights we have a wood stove for extra heat (we provide the wood). If you are not familiar with operating a woodstove, we are happy to demonstrate. The cabin has a great porch for sitting; hammocks for relaxing; fields and forest for hiking; games to play outdoors; bikes to ride; and books and board games if you want to stay snuggled inside. There is also a fire pit with all the needed cooking tools. We also have a 150-yard farm driving range for those who love golf - bring your short irons! We would be happy to provide information on other things to do and see in our area. We have something for everyone within a short drive of the farm. We are located right off Historic Route 66 Highway and we are co-owners of Route 66 Airfield that is adjacent to the farm. Guest access Guests have access to the cabin, the woodland and the farm fields (that are not being grazed by our cattle or horses). Please close any gates you enter as you explore. The cattle and horses are beautiful to watch, but please do not enter any fields where they are grazing. Some of the cattle fences are electric (are marked with signs). We can let you know which fields have cattle if they are not visible. Our Airedales and goats live on our adjoining property - but if they wander to the farm, they are very people friendly! Other things to note The "tiny" cabin experience may not be for everyone, its kind of like camping, but in a very nice cabin where everything is set up for you. If you want this kind of experience, our cabin is fully equipped and is a nice quiet spot to just relax and get away from it all. Please bring a flashlight or lantern if you plan to walk outside after dark. Please register and pay accordingly for all guests who will be using the cabin facility either staying the night or day use. We offer a lot of fun amenities and ask that all guests be registered and pay the listed fee. Please tidy up the cabin and clean dishes, cooking pots, pans, etc. before leaving - thanks!
