Description
As a place to stay, we have put in much thought and effort to create and maintain a unique space that is full of greenery. We also promote & support New Zealand talented artists, designers and creative businesses. Most of installations/furniture you see in the Stujio are designed/crafted locally. Installations are updated on a regular basis (for the latest update, refer to instagram #thestujio). The Heritage Building: the original building was built in 1909 as a mail-order company. After a major extension, It became the Farmers department store in 1921. The tearoom was opened in 1930, soon after that, it becomes one of the most prestigious places to dine. In 1998 the Heritage Auckland opened and hosted APEC event in 1999. Many of the historic characters were well preserved in the building such as original hardwood floor, wooden beams and Art Deco interior features.
