Situated in the small and vibrant village of Celuk Buluh, and nestled between the mountains and the beach, Masa Depan is an intimate, secluded and beautifully presented 2 bedroom villa located on the northern coastline of Bali. Built by local community to support local community, our villa offers visitors a unique and unforgettable village experience, and the opportunity to contribute to the social good of this community. The space Masa Depan holiday villa is part of the "Lovina Project" - a not-for-profit community development project that sees profits from your stay going directly towards providing educational opportunities to some of the community's most disadvantaged girls and young women. It's the perfect place for a family or friends to stay, relax and experience Bali like never before. Masa Depan is a 2.5 hour trip from Ngurah Rai Airport (Denpasar) and just a 5 minute motorbike ride from the main tourist centre and local beaches. Guest access Guest will have full access to villa facilities. Other things to note Villa manual We have prepared a villa manual to help you enjoy and get the most out of your stay. As well as including information on Masa Depan and the history of the Lovina Project, our manual includes local maps, emergency numbers, places to eat and transport and laundry options. It also includes a range of local tourist attractions, as well as a list of unique village experiences that have been created to ensure you have the most authentic and memorable stay. These include brick making, learning about Hindu culture and ceremony (including creating your own offerings), basket weaving, cooking classes, village tours and more! You can also select items from our menu of tasty local dishes which can be prepared in-house, for a very reasonable price by our favourite local cooks. Furnishings We have furnished Masa Depan with careful consideration and with comfort and practicality in mind. We have used family and the local community in the making of our furniture, doors, ceilings and soft furnishings. Masa Depan was built with bricks lovingly made by our family. We encourage you to make the most of your stay by enjoying the amenities and space, but we do ask that when it comes time to check-out, you leave all items as and where you found them for others to enjoy. If anything is broken, damaged or lost during your stay, please let us know so we can organise a repair or replacement as required. Internet/Wifi Unlimited and high speed internet access is available at the villa. Air conditioning Air con units have been fitted in both bedrooms to ensure you have a comfortable sleep, however as the main living area is open to the elements (so you can enjoy the afternoon breeze) there is no cooling in this area. A ceiling fan has been fitted for your comfort. Laundry There are no laundry facilities onsite, however if required, your host can easily organise laundering in the local village at a very reasonable per kg price (prices set out in villa manual). Clothes airers are available at Masa Depan to dry towels/smalls. Water Filtered water is available at the villa and can be used to fill water bottles as required. As we are concerned about our environment we do this to limit the amount of plastic waste we create. Hot/cold water available in bathroom. Kitchen If you are keen on cooking while staying at Masa Depan, you will be happy to know that our kitchen is well stocked with basic ingredients, pots, pans, bowls, utensils, crockery, cutlery and more - basically everything you need to create an amazing meal with the delicious and fresh produce sourced from local markets. A double-burner cook top is available to use, however no oven facilities are available as these are not common in Balinese kitchens. There is a large, well stocked western supermarket close to the villa to buy additional items if/when needed. Smoking We don't mind you smoking, however, in respect of future guests we request that this happen in open areas only and ashtrays provided are used. First Aid Kit A basic first aid kit has been provided for minor cuts, sprains and burns etc. If you do injure yourself during your stay and require medical attention or a chemist, please contact your host immediately. Noise We want you to enjoy your stay and be merry, however ask that you keep noise before 6.30am and after 10.30pm to a respectable level.
