Description
A jewel box of a Fort house, with a courtyard at its heart, a flowery roof terrace overlooking the Indian ocean at its head and a walled garden as it’s back gate. This 18th Century Dutch merchant's house is stylishly presented and with many of the original architectural features restored, Asian antiques and the owners passion for turquoise. The garden gate leads onto the Fort Ramparts , the lighthouse and beach below. The house is solar powered and not affected by power cuts. The space The house has a comfy airy sitting room open to the outdoors through 5 beautiful arches, overlooking the central courtyard pond. A well equipped kitchen is great for cooking - or to learn rice & curry cooking from Kanthi. The dining table over looks the leafy garden, and the roof terrace is perfect for sunbathing or a sunset aperitif. There are two main bedrooms with AC and mossie nets and their own bathrooms, though only one is en-suite. There is a further bedroom with a queen size bed as well a single bunk room. Both of which are available upon request. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the entire house, regardless of the number of rooms required. A key to access the private entrance will be provided for guests to come and go as they please. Other things to note If additional meals are prepared by Kanthi, we ask guests to contribute to the costs of the ingredients and show gratitude towards Kanthi’s time and effort.
