Townhouse, garden, hot tub, breakfast terrace.
Description
Family friendly house with a covered sun terrace and hot tub. Stay in the heart of Weymouth’s old town in a quiet residential street a short stroll from the historic harbour. Within walking distance are restaurants, pubs and several beaches with safe bathing. With the South Coast Footpath only 200m away and lines provided for crabbing on the harbour side (essential children’s entertainment), there’s something for everyone in sunny Weymouth! The space This is a Victorian terraced house tucked into a quiet street close to the harbour and family friendly beaches. The house is a great base for a traditional bucket and spade holiday with fun fair rides on the beach, donkeys and ice-cream or a quieter trip, making the most of the local seafood restaurants, rich history and beautiful scenery. The house has two bedrooms, both upstairs. One has a double bed and the other has two singles. The sofa in the downstairs is also a double sofa bed. There is a large family bathroom with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. There is very little traffic in the surrounding streets and an ideal holiday without a car as the station is a 20 minute walk away (or a £6 taxi) and all the beaches are in walking distance. There is a large supermarket 5 minutes away and there are regular buses from the town to Portland and the Jurassic coast. The house is recently decorated with new carpets, a lounge-diner that opens on to a large covered veranda. This gets early sun and is great for a sunny breakfast! There is seating and lighting out there too. The hot tub works well for two adults and a child or two, it is at the end of the garden on a patio this gets the sun later in the day. This area also has lighting for use in the evenings. Guest access You’ll have the run of the house and garden. The garden has a patio and the rest is given over to subtropical trees, so bare in mind that there isn’t loads of space for games. There is a long washing line, ideal for drying off wetsuits! There are open tread steps down to the garden from the terrace. At the front of the house there is a small paved area with railings, handy for bike storage. Rigid paddle boards do not fit through the house (we know this from experience!) We provide towels for each guest, a hand towel and a bath towel. We don’t provide extra towels for the hot-tub and the beach, have this in mind when packing. We have a washer but no dryer- there is a drying rack and the deck is a good space for this. Other things to note The train station gives good access to Bath and Bristol as well as frequent trains to London. The South Coast Footpath passes close to the house and makes it easy to walk on a paved surface to Chesil Beach and Portland. All the best restaurants are near the old harbour, this is a five minute walk. There are plenty of fishing and sightseeing boat trips as well, an opportunity to see the cruise ships that have sheltered here for the last year, it’s quite a sight.
