4 room setup in the middle of an Apple Orchard in Vashisht - 2 standard room with shared balcony, 1 standard room with private balcony, 1 attic room with private balcony Approachable only by hiking up the stairs starting from Vashisht Temple for about 20 minutes (*you can take more depending on fitness level/travel fatigue) The property is best for those looking for peace, wanting to spend time amidst nature & experiencing the slow mountain life The space Hiking up the stairs is the only way to reach our place & hiking down is the only way to reach the nearest market - Vashisht Market & Temple area. Porters are arranged to carry lugagges - they charge Rs. 150-Rs. 200 per porter per round. Payment to the Porters to be made directly by the guests during check-in & check-out. *Charges may fluctuate if it's raining/snowing. Check-in time: 9am to 4pm ONLY. Check-out time: 11am Free Wi-Fi (upto 150 mbps speed). No heaters in the room. Common area has Tandoor/Bukhari set-up. Laundry service available (*guests are requested to get the detergent of their choice). Property also has bonfire and barbecue set-up - One bonfire is complimentary. We have an outdoor cooking station, where you can cook. Basic Indian & local dishes+drinks available. It's best to share your food preference (*declare food allergies/veggies that you do not like etc) before check-in so that we can be prepared. Best place to halt if you are looking to do Bhrigu Lake Trek. Hike to Jogini Waterfall is possible from our place considering weather. We also have a Yoga/activity room with Board games (uno / playing cards / monopoly / scrable / jenga / carom board) Smoking 🚭 is not allowed inside the rooms. We arrange for Taxi/Bikes/Scooty rentals for local sightseeing. We also Bake cakes & cupcakes on request. We arrange for orchard picnic along with short trail walks around. Special arrangements for Birthday/Anniversary celebrations possible (*at an additional cost). Bookings during snow months (*January, February, March) are decided as per the snow condition on the trail up to our place. Best time to visit: May To December (*September being our favourite month as that is the time for Apple Harvest). Guest access With 3 room categories, choose the perfect room that matches your vibe - standard room with shared verandah, standard room with private balcony and attic room with private balcony. At The Mountain House Manali, we believe in being vocal for local. We try to source as many items as possible from the locals. This gives them an opportunity to earn and helps us provide you top quality products. Be it milk or desi ghee or hand woven socks - it's locally sourced and is simply the best! If you are staying with us, you can take Milk and ghee for that month from the locals directly. You can pack desi ghee for home too when you leave. The walk is an uphill walk (considering the location). There are stairs throughout the route and it could feel like a short hike to you. The average time our guests take to reach the property is 20 minutes. But you can take even an hour to reach. And that is absolutely fine. You are requested to follow your pace and keep peace with it. It is advisable to carry water and some munchies or anything else you might need as per your fitness level. During your stay The host shall be available at the property. Other things to note We have TWO STANDARD ROOMS with a shared balcony. Both the rooms have wooden floor with carpets, mud plastered walls that help regulate the temperature and both rooms have attached washroom with geyser. The rooms have storage space, furniture and access to electric kettle. The rooms have common verandah/balcony area. The space has different seating areas. All of it receives sunlight throughout the day. We have 1 STANDARD ROOM set-up with a private verandah. This unit is not attached with the other standard rooms, giving privacy and space to all our guests. The room has separate bathing and toilet area. It also has an outdoor seating space overlooking the beautiful mountain peaks and villages of the valley. The room is mud plastered and is cozy and comfortable. We also have 1 ATTIC room. It can accommodate 4-5 people. This unit is not attached with the standard rooms, giving privacy and space to all our guests. The attic room gives you the best view of Jogni Falls, Seven Sisters Peak, Khanpari and more. It also has a private balcony overlooking the beautiful peaks and villages of the valley. The room is mud plastered and is cozy and comfortable.
