Traditional house in Nicosia

The house is situated in the Old City of Nicosia (Greek side), inside the Venetian walls, within walking distance of Famagusta Gate. It is an example of traditional city architecture of the late 19th – early 20th century, restored to perfection under the supervision of the Nicosia Municipality. Furnished with antique furniture and decorated with much care and respect for the local traditions, the house is the perfect place to be if you want to explore Cyprus’s capital and feel its unique spirit. The space The house is part of a larger property organised around a small internal courtyard where you can have breakfast in the morning or enjoy an easy-going afternoon under the jasmine or the lemon tree. The main house to which this listing refers, consists of two floors with a large dining room, a sitting room, a family room with a fire place and a kitchen on the ground floor. On the upper floor, there is a master bedroom with an adjacent office. The only bathroom in the house is located on the upper floor and is accessible via the master bedroom and the office. Due to its specifics as a listed property, the interior architecture of the house has its limitations in terms of privacy and the place is more suitable for families, close relatives or friends, rather than people who prefer to have their own space. These limitations, however, are fully compensated by the unique atmosphere of the house, which has been noted and highly appreciated by all the guests that have had the opportunity to spend some time in it. The sleeping arrangements in the house are as follows: 1. Master bedroom (on the upper floor): one double canopy bed 2. Office (adjacent to the master bedroom): - one single bed, or - two single beds, or - one double bed depending on the guests’ needs 3. Sitting room (on the ground floor): one large ‘divan’ that sleeps two persons Thus, the house can accommodate up to 6 people, sharing 3 double beds. For larger groups or for singles who wish to have more privacy, we suggest that you book also one (or both) of the studios attached to the house, listed as “Studio in a tradizional home” and “Stanza privata a Nicosia”. The “Studio in a tradizional home” is connected to the main house and will give you access to a single bedroom and a second full bathroom on the ground floor. Depending on availability, this studio may be offered at a discount price to groups larger than 4 persons staying in the main house. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances, dishes and utensils. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board are also provided. A baby cot is available for families with small children. Internet access is secured via a wifi network. Guest access The entire house is at the disposal of the guests. Only the courtyard may be shared with other guests, staying in the two studios, if and when these are rented.
