Meant to shelter pigeons and store farmer' s equipment. A total of 6000m2 for a family to use for their own. Full traditional living and lots of activities only 2-4 hours away from Athens. Donkey rides, fishing trips, climbing, bouldering, tracking, snorkelling(pirate caves), surfing and remote beaches. Food making, marble commerse, sculpturing. The space The idea of this unique little house was generated when Venetians came to concour the island of Tinos in 1207ac. They carried the pigeons with on board to their travels. Pigeons or doves were a spicies unknown to Tinians till then. For Tinos, pigeon houses(dovecote) and pigeons became a vital factor to their culture. They where built with maximun two floors. The first floor was used as storage for farmers equipement and other. The top floor had a special design so pigeons could go rest. This allowed farmers to collect the manure created, to their fields. Pigeons manure is till now, the best quality there is. Many times though people used pigeons also as a food source. In 1715ac the Tinitian land had a new conqueror, Turks. Fortunately, a deal was made between Turks and Tinians. By giving a tax to the Sultan, Tinians could use their own land with no interference. That was the time that we have the first official record of a Dovecote, owned by a Tinian(1726ac).
