The space The cottage is situated in the hills just 5 minutes from Waipara Village, in the heart of the Waipara wine growing region. It's cosy, rustic, TV-free, and fully self-contained, with kitchen, bathroom, laundry and one double bedroom. The cottage accommodates a couple in comfort. Or three people, if one is happy to sleep on the almost 2 metre long sofa! A great place for couples, or a small family looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to base themselves in out the countryside. The nearest super markets are in Rangiora and Kaiapoi, so best to stock up on your way! Only 45minutes drive from the world renowned Hanmer springs thermal area. And a similar distance to the rugged Kaikoura coast. I built the cottage myself and my family and I lived there for a year while we built our main house. As such it is very much a labor of love and not just a "quickly knocked up shack". Waipara is one of New Zealand's fastest wine growing areas - famed for Pinot Noir, Riesling and other varietals. Literally surrounded on three sides by vineyards, this cottage is within five minutes drive of dozens of wineries, tens of dozens of vineyards and some amazing restaurants and beautiful rural walkways.. The cottage is a fantastic place to spend a few days enjoying peace and tranquility.
