Furnished to excellent standards, the cabin on top floor with its rustic wooden structure is cozy and perfect for couples. You can wake up to chirping birds, peacocks & sometimes to our pets Neo & Xena’s friendly woof. Hosts live nearby & welcome guests to bring their pets too. The space astam is an ideal retreat best suited for weekend getaways. Nestled inside a residential enclave in the outskirts of Bangalore, the city is left far behind though not inaccessible. The villa has been up-scaled from its previous version that was originally built using alternative technology in its primary construction materials such as bamboo, limestone, timber and colorful terracotta flooring. It was featured in “Better Interiors” magazine for its eco-friendly sensitivities to resource management and unconventional alternate dwelling options, way back in 2007. The villa has won the ‘Excellence Awards for Residential weekend Retreat in “Better Interiors” 2007 and “JK Awards for Innovative use of materials- Residential” 2009 While maintaining the overall structural design and theme, astam in its new version has been reconditioned to high standards and is furnished with works of rustic art , mostly upcycled wood, bottles etc. Many of these are hand made by the host family in addition to their collection of accoutrements from their discerning journeys. astam features a lush garden and sit-outs with a great view. This 2-bedroom Villa has 2 unique sections: The ground floor has a living room, kitchen, bath, foyer, storage, overseeing the courtyards and garden. The first floor is a cozy dwelling. Built in Canadian timber the bedroom is tastefully done giving it a log house experience. It has a separate living area and balcony overseeing the courtyard below. Waking up to a sun kissed room will be a delightful experience. The cabin bedroom has a king size bed and can comfortably accommodate two guests. It has a private bathroom with shower areas and natural sunlight. This listing is a shared space and part of the listing "2 BR Villa near airport". The villa has a kitchen, living room in the ground floor area along with cafe style dining area that opens onto a huge courtyard where you can have your dose of caffeine, meals or just relax with a glass of beer / wine enjoying the surrounding nature. The kitchen, open dining, living room and courtyard are shared spaces with the ground floor area guests. The bathroom is private and separate for both sections. We can accommodate a maximum of one extra guests (total 3 guests) on floor mattresses at an additional cost per person per night. Your food and our kitchen How can you enjoy the tranquility and nature @ astam without some food and munchies in the style you like it? Enjoy an early morning sunrise with fresh coffee or Indian chai in any of the 4 best spots in the place- Courtyard, the front garden, the side porch or the private dwelling on the first floor soaking in the orange sun glaze (a family favourite). The guests can order food online/ restaurants nearby BUT what better way than to try something you know or something new in our kitchen! The nearest grocer is 5 min away. Just bring your own food or grocery and we’ll provide the rest. 1. “Dream Kitchen” adjacent to an open sky courtyard to cook in, entertain and bring everyone together. 2. 1 microwave, 1 fridge 3. A basic selection of pots, pans, serving dishes, food storage, platters, Tea pot, Coffee filter, forks, spoons, cooking knives enough for 6-8 people. 4. One Outdoor napoleon Pro barbeque grill for parties with grilling tongs, Grill included with charcoal set up to light and grill at an extra cost. Barbeque requirements from guests must be made in advance at least 24 hrs before check in to ensure availability. 5. Includes kitchen towels, sponges, wipes, cleaning liquids so you can maintain a clean kitchen once you are finished. 6. Minimal cleaning services are provided during the stay. Cleaning services for kitchen, dish washing is an optional add on at a cost. 7. Our place is not equipped to accommodate / host drivers. 8. We can accommodate a maximum of 1 extra guests (total 3 guests) on floor mattresses at an additional cost of Rs.1800/- per person per night. Guest access The log house is a part of the Villa on the first floor. Guests who book the cabin have a common access entrance. The cabin itself is self-sufficient and private with a living room and is accessible only to guests who booked the cabin. However cabin guests share the living room area, kitchen, garden sit-out and courtyard along with guests who booked the exclusive bedroom situated in the ground floor. During your stay We live next door and will be able to support and help you before and during your stay. We are available a phone call away during your stay and will respond within 2 hours during our pre-post booking communication. We can also help you plan your holiday in and around Bangalore and there on. Other things to note We trust that all guests staying at Astam are COVID negative. We assure you that our home is fully sanitized before your arrival as well as all necessary precautions has been followed to ensure your safe stay. Due to the Pandemic, we will not be able to provide basic house keeping services during your long stays (1+ days). However, per our house rules, we will provide you with fresh linen after the third night stay as described in our listing. This is in line with the rules for your own safety and instructions set by the Indian Government as well as Air BnB.
