Description

A large, bright double bedroom in Kennington with free Wi-Fi. Located close to central London, with Kennington tube station (Northern Line, Zone 2) less than two minutes away. The City and West End are reachable in under 15 minutes. London Bridge (Borough Market and The Shard) and Waterloo (Southbank and the London Eye) are around 10 minutes away. Kia Oval and the Ovalhouse Theatre are also within walking distance. Longer stays (28+ nights) welcome – message to discuss. The space Victorian house, refurbished and decorated to a very high standard. Guest access The room is professionally cleaned, with fresh bed linen and towels provided for each new visitor. The room is equipped with a T.V (Freeview channels), water, tea and coffee making facilities, so you can enjoy complimentary drinks whilst in your room. I have also provided tube maps and Tour Guide books to help you plan and maximise your visit to London. There is one bathroom for guests to share located just outside their room. I would ask guests to leave this space clean, as other guests will use it also. During your stay I am usually available to welcome guests upon arrival. Guests are free to contact me anytime during their stay. You are free to ask questions or make requests. If time permits and requests can be met, I will do my best to accommodate. I am more than happy to help with anything I can during your stay. Other things to note CHECK-IN: Please confirm your check-in time (between 5pm – 9pm) at your earliest opportunity and do keep me informed of any delays in advance of your arrival. At check-in please make time for me to explain key information about my home. CHECK-OUT: Check-out is before 10am. Please ensure you have all your belongings with you and place all dirty towels in the laundry bag provided in your room. Should you choose to stay later than the check-out time, you will be charged £25 per hour or part of the hour for the first 3 hours, and then you will be liable to pay for an extra night at your average nightly charge. Keys should be returned to the host. Please leave keys on the bedside table if you are leaving before 8am. A replacement fee of £240 will be charged for any lost or stolen keys. CONFIRMED GUESTS: Only confirmed guests at the time of booking will be allowed into the house. No additional persons are permitted. Please DO NOT give out the address to anyone who is not a part of the confirmed booking. I would also ask that you do not bring other people, friends or strangers who are not part of the booking to the house. Additionally, please do not ask anyone to come and meet you at the house either. This is just to maintain security and safety for everyone staying at the house. NO OUTDOOR SHOES: There is a strict ‘NO OUTDOOR SHOES POLICY’ inside this home, please take off outdoor shoes once entered into the hallway. Slippers are provided for guests, but you are free to bring your own, or ‘Jazzy socks’ should you wish. LUGGAGE STORAGE: Please visit STASHER website for a convenient local storage service. Luggage storage is also available at major train stations. It may be wise to travel light, as there are stairs to climb to get to the guest room. BATHROOM: Please be mindful that there are two guests’ rooms next to each other and the bathroom may be shared with other guests. During check in I will demonstrate where the necessities are and how to use things like the shower, toilet brush and mirror light. I will also show where to find things like toilet wipes and feminine care disposal bags. Please remember to clean the toilet after use (especially if toilet bowl is soiled) and close the lid. To avoid accidents and as a courtesy to other guests using the bathroom, if the bathroom floor is wet after you’ve showered or had a bath, please dry the floor using the mop situated just outside the bathroom door. Please ensure you leave the bathroom clean by removing your hair from the sink and bath after each use. BEDROOM: Provided within each guest room is an iron, bed-top ironing board, clothes air dryer, laundry basket, hair dryer, T.V. and coffee machine. Please use the clothes air dryer to hang your wet things on, especially wet towels. Please DO NOT place wet items on the radiator, hang anything on a hanger from the window blind pull or out the window. A very important thing to note is DO NOT hang anything over the T.V. – especially wet items. COFFEE MACHINE: A coffee machine is available in your room, along with a selection of tea and coffee. There is also complementary bottled water and light snacks provided for you upon arrival. LAUNDRY: There is a washing machine and dryer available upon request for guests to wash their clothes. There is a small fee of £30 per load charged to use this facility. KITCHEN: Limited use of the kitchen (microwave and toaster) at agreed times is available for guests staying for 8 nights or longer. Please note: I do not provide ingredients, so if you choose to prepare food from scratch, you are expected to provide everything you need to make your dish. Cutlery and crockery are provided (you will be shown where these items are for you to use). If you use the kitchen, you are expected to wash and tidy up after yourself and put the things you use away, leaving the kitchen clean and presentable for other users. SMOKING: No smoking or vaping allowed in the bedroom or any other part of the house. Smoking outside the house is permitted. Please do not smoke immediately outside the front door, as the fumes often comes back into the house through the open door. Can you dispose of smoking litter responsibly and not just disgard on the pavement or on the steps or area inside of gate, as the neighbours don’t like to see smoke litter discarded on the walkway. OTHER: Please conserve energy by unplugging all gadgets when not in use and not having lights on during the day. Can you also remember to turn lights off especially the bathroom mirror light and bedroom lights when going out or going to sleep for the night. All doors in the house are fire doors, please remember to shut the bathroom and kitchen doors once you've finished. Please remember this is a private home, and not a hotel. Whilst your room and bathroom are professionally cleaned after each guest checks out, the regular housekeeper is booked once every two weeks. Please keep the bathroom clean and tidy outside of the housekeeper visits – especially if there are guests in the room next door. There is on street parking, but guests will have to purchase a permit (£12per day). Parking is free at weekends. Please let me know if you require a visitor parking permit, as advanced notice and vehicle registration is required at booking.
