Trail View is our special spot in Derby. Historically steeped in the mining past, our bedrooms look out of lead light sunray's to the moss laden forest below as does the deep bath with unlimited hot water for bathing and showers. A relaxing , tranquil and private home with everything we need to revive the senses after an adventurous day on the trails. The wood burning heaters and fire pit circle provides us a cosy area to gather where stories are told and memories made. The space Trail View house was the mine managers house in 1930, she has beautiful Deco features such as lead light windows, Deco wooden wardrobes and doors, mantles , fire places, a meat safe and ornate ceilings. She sits on the hillside, surrounded by trails and tranquil forest but is only a short walk to the village and trail head .She is unique in Derby since her private position on the hillside allows you to drop straight on' Air Ya Garn' from the top of the back garden lane yet its just near the village. She is a big home and can sleep up to 14 people in 10 king single and 2 queen size beds . The bedroom configurations are ; room 1 sleeps 1 person in a king single bed, room 2 sleeps 3 people in one set of king single bunks and one separate king single bed, room 3 sleeps 3 people 2 can share a queen size bed and 1 in a king single , room 4 sleeps 3 again 2 share a queen bed and one in a king single, room 5 sleeps 2 in 2 separate king single beds room 6 1 in 1 king single bed. Trail view has a wonderful chefs quality kitchen with a wood burner fire, kitchen Island, two large fridges and freezer, microwave, nespresso coffee machine, slow cooker, sandwich press, blender stick, a large oven and hob . We have stocked it with all the essential pans, serving bowls, crockery, gasses and there is a Bbq outside.Also outside is a large table and seating area with a fire pit. Next to the kitchen is a lovely large dining room that seats 12 comfortably and 14 at a squeeze. There is a full laundry for your convenience with a top loading washing machine and dryer and a clothes line outside. There is a second full bathroom with decorative tiling and brass fittings and a small single toilet nearby too. The main bathroom is tranquil with a free standing deep bath sitting in front of the view once the window is opened , there is even a place for your book and wine glass, in the winter comfort is secured by underfloor heating and heated towel rails, a hair dryer and a separate shower area. The lounge room has a lovely cushioned window seat and a second wood burning heater in the fireplace, a restored 1930's club lounge suite and extra seating plus a tv, dvd player, xbox, wifi NBN and a blue tooth speaker to play your tunes. There is a large 16 meter long hall way running the length of the house softened by beautiful pendants and artwork. All bedrooms have new comfortable beds with quality mattresses that are mainly king single sized , quality drapes and linen , warm bedding and electric heaters. Each bedroom has been decorated according to its character with either unique views, decorative ceilings or past uses. She has lovely extensive gardens with outdoor seating a custom built fire pit all to enjoy the district views and good company. There is a large lock up garage to securely store bikes, could store more than 16 bikes and there is a bike stand, floor pump and some basic tools, there is also a hose for washing bikes outside with a bucket ,sponges and cleaning brushes. Guest access Guests can access the entire house and gardens and garage. Other things to note The only mobile phone reception that works in Derby is Telstra , other mobiles can get service in Branxholm or at some high points. We supply wood for internal fires in the overhang behind the garage , the wood near the tennis court fences is for fire pit only.
