The space Well located and quiet apartment, with shared terrace & air conditioning, only 200m from Gent-Dampoort train station, Flixbus and Eurolines, and free parking in the station car park. Gent-Dampoort is the train station closest to the city hall (1km) and has direct trains to Antwerp, Bruges, Kortrijk, Lille-Vlaanderen (France), Ypres and the coastal cities of Ostend and De Panne. Direct train to Brussels during the week at 07.47… Gay friendly. L'atique by Agelandkaai is our second project in house, it is a two-storey apartment at the top of our house. When you are looking for dates to book, you may notice that we are not available for check-in or check-out on Saturdays. This way we keep our Saturdays a bit to ourselves. However, if you are staying for four or more days, you can always enquire if you want to arrive or depart on a Saturday. You have a no, but maybe you will get a yes... If you want to sleep separately, we do charge 10€ per week for the second pair of bed linen, this because of the cost of washing, starching and ironing the sheets. This payment is made upon arrival. Everything (or almost) is new, new bathroom, kitchen, floors, ceiling, ..., the works as they say. We welcome you here with everything you need for your stay. We think you will find everything you need, all private. The only thing that has to be shared is the hallway and the terrace, downstairs behind the studio (La bellétage) that we also rent on airbnb. Guest access About parking: we have free parking at the train station car park. You should also check if your car is still allowed into the city, as Ghent is now a low emission zone. We live just inside the LEZ, so if you are not allowed into the city, it is not that far to walk from the car. If you are in the car park and want to stay longer in Ghent after checking out, we recommend that you park your car there the night before checking out, so that you can stay there as long as you stay in Ghent. There is one more thing we want to mention, the location in the review after a booking. Lately we often get 4 stars for location, while our guests know perfectly well where our house is located, how far we are from the center, from the station, etc. Maybe people are more critical because of corona, but we would like to ask you to check the prices of places with a 'better' location, you also pay more ... If you come by car, you don't have to drive into the center and pay parking fees. If you come by train or bus, you don't have to drag your luggage through the city center. Yes, it is a 10 minute walk to the center, but again, feel free to look at other prices, and take this into account when writing your review. As you can read from our reviews, guests are often very satisfied, and that is the most important reason for us to rent out our spaces, we do not do this for free of course, but the most important reason for us are good reviews, and our guests leave with beautiful memories. The 4 star reviews on location made our overall 'score' go from 4.97 to 4.95, which is still very good, but we have to admit, it hurts a bit... Also because this is a beautiful location, you have big trees in front of the house, we live on a lock, with a summer bar, just a short walk along the water away from the city center, in a safe neighborhood, with shops and restaurants (ok, not always open with corona, but still). We just wanted to mention it once, thanks. Other things to note No problem to leave luggage after check-out, you can always come back with the key in the key safe, just ask for the code. Rain covers are available if you have bad weather. We are happy to offer you what we think you might need, to have a nice time in Ghent, to feel welcome and at home. Anything we haven't thought of, just ask us. Apparently, as we hear from our guest, we do a great job, which makes hosting very pleasant for us too. Happy to welcome you in our house.
