There are very few places to stay actually inside the wonderful Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary - but this idyllic spot is one of them. In the village of Dalar, which has only ten families and no road access, Santosh Joshi has created one simple but well-appointed guest house, which has sleeping arrangements of four (4). Cottage has self-contained, with kitchen, sitting room, and bedrooms, running hot and cold water, modern wc, and electricity. Meals can be prepared oneself in the guest house, or provided by the Joshi family (who also offer lessons in Kumaon cooking). Santosh joshi is a qualified guide, with expert knowledge of birds and other wildlife found in the sanctuary (including leopard, porcupine, mountain goats and wild boar). He also has deep knowledge of walking trails. His English is fluent. Access to Dalar is by taxi transfer from Kathgodam, then a short, gentle 1.5 km trail from the road.
