Mud-brick with timber bathroom, built only with natural / recycled materials, our cottage is nestled amongst granite boulders and beautiful native gardens with views to the Grampians. Close to Gt. Western wineries, Ararat cafes and the Stawell Gift! The space Nestled amongst beautiful native plantings especially Grevillea gardens with exposed granite boulders. With views to Mt William, Grampians Grevillea Cottage is perfect for lazy summer lunches and cosy winter comfort. The Cottage is solid mud-brick, the bathroom is weatherboard, totally built using natural or recycled materials! Our land management assists the natural regeneration of some special vegetation communities and as Land for Wildlife members, we nurture the habitat for our native fauna. With over 78 hectares protected under a conservation covenant with Trust For Nature, we have many resident kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, possums, gliders, goannas and an extensive birdlist for you to come and enjoy. The flowering times for the gardens are May through to Christmas peaking in September / October, but all year is a great time for Grevilleas. Complete privacy but just 50m from the main house. Generous continental breakfast basket provided. Facilities include: - double bed - TV - couch - wood heater - shower and toilet are en-suite. - all linen provided. - kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge. - shady verandah and gas BBQ. - outdoor tables. - ample rewood. You can sit under the verandah with views of the Grampians, or walk freely around the 78 hectare granite boulder strewn ridge. Opposite is the Panrock Reservoir and Black Ranges Scenic Reserve. - Wander our extensive walking tracks and surrounds - Enjoy the native gardens with abundant wildlife, and nearby hills, heathlands and wildowers; all within walking distance. - Photograph ancient granite rocks or find one to climb for better views. - Observe local flora regeneration and prolific birdlife - Witness soil-creation processes especially active since the bushfire of 2006 - Help protect the rare Southern Brown Bandicoots as well as the gardens and plantations.
