The space The original cottage was built in 1897 on the site of the Carrington Orchard, the garden still contains many old apple trees from that time. The dining room is lined with the original pressed metal panels, providing a wonderful sense of history. The cottage is warm and cosy, with an open fire, central heating and underfloor heating in both bathrooms. The deck provides a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy views of Narrow Neck. It is especially wonderful during the changing light of day, either with an early morning cuppa or an evening drink as the sun goes down. The kitchen boasts a 900mm Ilve oven, generous bench space, and an integrated dishwasher, perfect for cooking a family feast. A BBQ is also available on the deck. The shops are only a stone throw away and yet you feel well away from the main street of Katoomba, which offers countless cafes and restaurants, the little lost bookshop, and a wonderful bakery. Not to mention the Carrington deli and bottle shop, which offers gourmet delights and regional NSW wines (and those from further afield). We have intentionally kept this cottage technology-free, with no TV and no WiFi. There is instead a multitude of board games for all ages and a wonderfully cosy lounge to curl up with a good book.
