Claret Ash Cottage, Hunter Valley

Claret Ash Cottage is a beautiful 1890's mining cottage nestled in the hamlet of Elderslie, Hunter Valley. The cottage accommodates up to 6 guests and suits those wanting to wind down by the fire pit in winter or on the back deck watching the sunset in summer - whilst enjoying the bounty of the Wine Country region. A picturesque 25 minute drive will have you in the heart of the wineries during the day - then back to Claret Ash Cottage by night to wine, dine and admire the view. The space Claret Ash Cottage boasts 10 foot ceilings, original timber flooring and pieces of antique furniture, all with a story to tell. The fully equipped kitchen includes the original 1890's wood fire stove and a 3 door Belling cook top and oven to create your masterpieces. Pick the chillies, rosemary and mint from the garden. Oils, salt, pepper, tea, coffee and sugar are all provided. Choose to dine indoors in the dining room with the piano, or on the large timber table on the back deck. The outdoor cane lounge is the perfect spot for a cheese platter and glass of wine whilst taking in the view. The cottage has spectacular views of the surrounding farm land and on most weekends you can watch the parachutists from Elderslie Parachute Club, fall from the skies. Sit by the fire pit, toast marshmallows and enjoy the local wildlife. Watch the new born calves in Spring and the neighbouring horses galloping around the paddocks. The land is fully fenced and is the perfect space for children to play. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, brand new queen size beds, mattresses, pillows and linen for your comfort. The cottage is a 25 minute drive to the heart of the wineries and concert venues. If you are planning to attend a concert, please let us know and we can help guide you to transport providers. If you would like some guidance on wine tours, we are happy to help. Guest access Guests will have access to the whole house, including the laundry. The garage and outdoor shed will not be accessible to our guests. Other things to note The Elderslie Parachute Club neighbours onto our property. The Club operates 1 o 2 weekends per month, weather pending. Whilst we delight in watching the parachutists sailing down, you may notice the sound from the small plane every couple of hours as it takes off and lands.
