Vinco - Holiday Apartment

Welcome to Vinco, a group of ancient stone-houses on the hills between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. The guests' flat is around 40 m2 with an independent entrance as a part of the main building. It is an ideal place for relaxing days and for getting into contact with nature, trekking and mountain biking or enjoying the typical festivals of the village. Bikers welcome. You can also reach the village of Castel del Rio in a half an hour walk through the woods. We are looking forward to see you! The space A dive into the past. The guests' flat has been created to offer not only a completely relaxed time, but also allow guests to feel the emotions and the rhythm of life from the past. To enter the apartment you go up the stone stairs and get in through a little medievial door (Mind your head!) The flat consists of a wide room where you'll find on one side the night area furnished with furniture built in 1920 by our great grandfather who was a carpenter. Then of course you have domestic appliances: a gas cooker with 4 burners and electric oven, a fridge and a microwave oven on top of an old real "icebox furniture". There is a large dining table and a small typical cupboard from the fifties where all the dishes and cutlery are. The bathroom has a wide comfortable shower, there is a boiler for hot water, a heater and a washing machine. Heating is provided by a big tile wood stove placed in the old medieval fireplace. We would like to inform all guests coming during winter time that the heating is NOT automatic, but that everybody should keep the fire lit....also this has its charm. Guest access The flat with independent entrance is fully available for guests. Parking is very close to the entrance. There is a small balcony in front of the door with a beautiful view on the ruins of the ancient castle named "Castellaccio". Our land and woods are fully available for beautiful walks in the middle of the nature. Other things to note The water of the house is the most important thing to take care of. It is clean and sterilized with UVA rays but it is not drinkable by law and it is a primary good for the house's survival. No waste is allowed. It is advisable to bring your own drinking water. Animals are not allowed. The flat is heated by a warm wood stove. The guests can enjoy the touch of old times by keeping the fire on with the wood provided. Near the house there aren't shops for grocieries but you can find all your supplies from the nearby village. The house is about 3 km from the village of Castel del Rio.
