Village Villa Bed and Breakfast

Description

Experience rural Nepalese lifestyle in the charming village of Changu Narayan, home-place of Nepal's oldest Hindu temple. We’re just a short bus ride from Bhaktapur, with lots of possibilities for hiking, authentic culture and beautiful views. The space Our homestay is the perfect place to escape the noise of Kathmandu and enjoy a peaceful rural atmosphere with a local family. We’ll provide you with a private room with a raised double bed, a single mattress on the floor, and great views of the Kathmandu Valley. You can enjoy the sun and fresh air at our nice rooftop-terrace whilst watching authentic rural Nepalese life going on around you. We live on the ground floor, so our guests have their own private space on the first floor and roof-top. Our house is very peaceful -- the only noises you will hear are the quacking of ducks and bleating of goats! Guest access Our house has three rooms for rent. Two of the rooms share one toilet and the rooftop-room has a private toilet. We have Wi-Fi available for all the rooms. Included in the price is a Nepalese breakfast (chapatti, eggs and tea). If you wish we also run a restaurant where you can order home-cooked dishes, both Western and Nepalese. During your stay If you are interested we can teach you how to cook some traditional Nepalese dishes such as Dhaal Baat and Momos. My wife is an excellent cook, and you can learn to cook over a wooden fire in our kitchen. Please note that this is a rural Nepalese experience, so we have electricity cuts during the day. We don't always have hot water, but my wife is happy to heat water for you to shower with. Guests can have as much or as little interaction with our family as they like. We are here to make sure that you are comfortable, feel welcome, and get a taste of the peaceful rural life of Nepal. We truly believe in sharing our rich culture with our visitors! Other things to note There is a 100 NPR (~1USD) admission fee the first time you enter Changu Narayan. You only pay it once and it helps to restore the temple. Also, please note that this is a traditional Nepalese house, so we have frequent power cuts and hot water may not always be available (although my wife is always happy to heat water for you which you can use to shower with).
