Description

One of the top 10 tiny houses in NZ!www.theurbanlist.com/nz/a-list/tiny-homes-nz-airbnb. Travellers love this modern living space which emphasises quality over quantity! 400m to a huge lake and bike trail, a few minutes to shops. Perfect for regenerating between trips into Fiordland National Park. The South West NZ World Heritage Area is on YOUR doorstep here: fabulous views invite you out or give ever changing vistas from this sanctuary. Stay at least two full days to sample the region! The space This bespoke tiny house was designed in 2015 by a young couple who know how little house is needed for a really good life. Takahē Nest was built by a tradesman who lives a block away, exquisitely finished in 2016. The Takahē Nest is named after a rare flightless bird that was thought extinct 100 years ago but was rediscovered in small numbers in the mountains you can see from your kitchen & living space. Although "techni-coloured turkey" in adult appearance, the Takahē chicks are jet black. Social impact statement = You enable us to triple-bottom line towards sustainability by sponsoring Takahē and many local social causes too. We are fastidiously clean Guest access The Takahē Nest is all yours for the duration of your stay, includes frisbees & petanque boules for playing on the lawn. Other things to note Filtered ‘EnviroVent’ air ventilation system ensures your small home living is fresh and warm. As a single working parent I truly appreciate any efforts you can make to ensure the Takahē Nest is maintained to the standard you would like to find it as a new guest, kia ora. Cupboards are stocked to provide hospitality and earthquake resilience (manaakitanga e kaitiakitanga). IF YOU USE food or ingredients from cupboards please replace under ‘KOHA' system - give just a little more than what you are grateful for using so next Takahē Nest resident can enjoy your kindness too Wifi for guests is free and unlimited. Fibre installed soon too
