An extremely and relaxing location to unwind suitable for couples or small groups We can accommodate up to 6 guests with two superking beds or twins plus two sofa beds. The space The space- Glebe court Luxury Guest house is a self contained two storey accommodation on the north wing of the house with its own access and self catering accommodation. Suitable for couples and small groups alike due to the romantic nature of the quintessential English gardens and setting of the hot tub. As you enter through your own access you have a downstairs cloakroom with ample of hanging space for your coats. You continue upstairs to the rest of the accommodation which includes the large master suite with Superking ‘Emma’ bed , large en-suite with roll top freestanding Bath and separate large shower. Smart TV, quiet reading area and dressing table. The second bedroom can either be made up as a second superking or twin beds according to guests preference. This bedroom has its own private shower room and toilet just down the landing. The main living room painted in a striking ‘Invisible Green’ leads your eye out to the beautifully kept gardens, lakes and view over the vale of Taunton. It has its own fireplace, loaf sofas and reading corner making it the most grand but cosy room for sharing with friends or snuggling up with loved ones. New smart tv. Although there is two bedrooms, the accommodation is large with ample room for six people. There is a fold out ‘Bed in a Bun Loaf’ single bed which can be used for putting up your fifth/sixth guest, it’s very portable and can easily be set up in the master bedroom for younger members of the party. There is another option of a portable fold out double bed which can easily be erected either in the huge master bedroom or in them living room. The fifth and sixth guests will be provided adequate linen and towels for their stay. Three toilets within the accommodation and two full bathrooms. Brand new kitchen for January 2024. kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, crockery, children's crockery, intergrated dishwasher, Fridge freezer, Microwave, Gas Hob and Electric oven. It has a large kitchen table ideal for family meals and Celebrations. Alternatively there is plenty of room and preparation space to hire in your own local chef of choice to make a special evening for you. Nescafé dolce Gusto coffee maker. A small mini bar with honesty box is available to guests. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar. Super fast broadband connection. The Hot Tub is located in the well established and productive walled garden. It is a short walk around the house down a well lit path, guests have exclusive use during their stay until 10pm. Guests have free range to explore our 12 acres of gardens, paddocks, woodlands. A designated BBQ and outdoor seating is available for guests to use during stay within the beautiful walled garden. Please note it is a traditional charcoal kettle barbecue. Charcoal is available to purchase during your stay. We have two listings here on site and it is also a family home, both listings have their own dedicated hot tub for exclusive use throughout your stay and own designated bbq area and lawn areas with summer seating. Both entrances to the listings are within the same courtyard, however both listings are extremely private. Search YouTube ‘GC gardens’ to view footage of the grounds . Secure parking for bikes can be arranged. We may be willing to take small, well behaved dogs at discretion of owner at a charge of £15 per dog per stay. Please discuss before booking. We have livestock on the premises in he form of sheep, goats, chickens and horses, please do not enter their paddocks and respect any electric fencing as it will be on! Do not feed any of the animals. Being a former rectory we are nestled against the historic church of st. Augustines, the church is opened daily and is well worth a look. The local pub now an excellent Italian Restaurant Il Basilico is just a three minute walk through the centre of the village. Location- west monkton is a quiet, rural village without any direct public transport links, the closest bus stop is approx a mile walk away so advisable to bring a car or get a taxi from Taunton to the accommodation. Taxis from Taunton town centre are approx £15. We are situated on the edge of the Quantock's just three miles from the county town of Taunton, with its great variety of shops and restaurants. The Brewhouse theatre puts on a wide variety of performances throughout the year. Vivary park is within the town centre with high ropes course and 18 hole golf course. Taunton has a regular farmers market on a Thursday. There are three friendly local pubs within easy walking distance, the Monkton Inn is just 300 yards from the end of the drive, the Merry Monk and the Maypole inn are situated about a mile away and easily walkable. We are situated at the foot of the Quantock hills and is the perfect location for keen dog walkers, walkers, bikers or horse riders to take advantage of the area. Samuel Taylor Coleridge's cottage in Nether Stowey is only a stones throw away over the hill. The West Somerset coast is not to be missed hosting the legendary west Somerset steam railway, a 22 mile heritage railway line from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, the medieval village of Dunster with its castle, yarn market and quirky shops and tea rooms. A wonderful day out for all young and old. The beauty of Exmoor with it rugged coastline are not to be missed and most accessible. We are close to the famous Somerset levels renowned for its rich wildlife and has the largest lowland population of breeding wading birds, great for any ornithologist or amateurs alike with many walkways and hides. Autumn and winter is a particularly wonderful time to visit with the famous starling murmurations easily accessible and many guided tours taking place. Glastonbury is a thirty minute drive. Guest access The access to accommodation is uneven due to the age of the property, it is well lit but is a cobbled courtyard and the main accommodation is up a fairly narrow curved staircase. Guests are welcome to walk around the grounds and the walled garden, any produce from the walled garden is strictly forbidden to be picked or consumed. We do ask guests to respect the lawn area and patio around rear of the house as this is a private residence. Hot tub is available for use and take 6 adults, not advised for children under 12 and pregnant ladies. No glasses to be taken to hot tub, plastic glasses provided in apartment. Other things to note Guests have exclusive use of the Hot Tub during their stay. It is a short walk around the house and down a well lit path situated in the well tended and productive walled kitchen garden. We do not provide towels for use in hot tub area. We ask that the hot tub is not used after 10pm. We recommend bringing flip flops or similar footwear and a dressing gowns for getting to and from the hot tub. Guests have exclusive use of the hot tub during their stay. It is a short walk around the house and down a well lit path situated on the terrace overlooking the formal lawns and ponds. For summer months we have a charcoal BBQ available to use in designated BBQ area along with sun chairs etc, charcoal available with honesty pot. Travel cot available upon request. Search ‘GC gardens’ on YouTube to view a video of the grounds. Small mini bar will be available to guests. Being a former Rectory we are located next to the parish church, the church clock strikes hourly and can be heard faintly from the accommodation, although we have never had complaints. The church has bell ringing practise on a Thursday evening for 1.5 hours, the bells will also be rung for special occasions such as weddings etc and the fourth Sunday of each month for the family service, this can be heard clearly from the accommodation but adds to the charm. We may be willing to take small, well behaved dogs at discretion of owner at a charge of £15 per pet. Please message before booking
