Situated a few steps from Gallery Walk, this iconic Tamborine Mountain cottage is crafted in traditional Old English style, filled with character and charm. Fig Tree Cottage features slate shingle roof and delightful dormer windows, giving a romantic storybook feel. Step inside to discover heavy timber beams, inglenook fireplace, quaint little doorways, the odd squeaky floorboard and a narrow timber staircase. Small and cosy, Fig Tree Cottage is perfect for 2, but can accommodate up to 4 The space The décor and architectural features of Fig Tree Cottage create an English country cottage atmosphere. Guests can expect small rooms with beams and low ceilings, typical of this traditional style. A feature of the living room is the inglenook fireplace. Firewood is supplied during the winter months. A small deck leads off the sunroom and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or afternoon tea. The quaint country kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave and fridge. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided, along with a few essentials such as salt & pepper, sugar and oil. A dining area adjoins the kitchen. The bathroom is located downstairs and has a full-sized tub with shower overhead. The main bedroom has a queen-sized four-poster bed. An ensuite, with shower, toilet and vanity basin,lead off the main bedroom. A second bedroom, with antique double brass & iron bed, is across from the main bedroom. Both bedrooms are located at the top of a steep, narrow staircase. For safety reasons, please do not take large suitcases up the stairs. Guest access Off-street parking is in the driveway. Guests will have the entire cottage to themselves. Enjoy the cottage garden, which changes with the seasons. As you wander the grounds, please take care on the paths, which can become slippery when wet. The garage, garden studio and potting shed are not for guest use. Other things to note VISITORS Unless prior arrangements have been made, only booked guests are permitted access to Fig Tree Cottage. CLIMATE Typically the temperature on Tamborine Mountain is several degrees cooler than surrounding areas. Guests are advised to be prepared for cool conditions at any time of year, and pack accordingly. STAIRS Both bedrooms are situated upstairs. The steps that lead to the bedrooms are steep and narrow. Please consider this before booking. CHILDREN Unfortunately Fig Tree Cottage is not suitable for children. We respectfully request that those travelling with children do not ask to book.
