The space Please note that this is our family home. Normally when we go away, we set it up as a BnB. However, because we are busy at present, we are offering it simply as a lovely furnished home. It will be clean and comfortable, and our personal belongings will be minimised so that you have enough space in cupboards, pantry etc. to make yourselves at home. The house will not be set up to be "on show" and the garden may be a bit more rambling than usual but you will still be able to enjoy its features: Pennygreen is a lovingly renovated character period home, set amongst an acre of rambling gardens. Art deco and art nouveau design features include a spectacular curved picture window with built in window seat, a grand lounge room with French doors to the wide return verandah, high ceilings, open fireplaces, leadlight windows, polished jarrah & baltic pine floors throughout, leading to a chefs kitchen blending a French range with double oven & stainless steel bench top, set in the original brick hearth. Modern conveniences include ducted gas heating, gas log fire, split system air-conditioner, remote gate, dishwasher, espresso coffee machine and other appliances, as well as off street-parking. Pennygreen is situated in the gateway to the Dandenong Ranges, minutes from the well-known 1000 Steps and the quaint townships of Sassafrass, Olinda and Kallista. Enjoy year round holiday ambience with abundant bird life and forest walks on the doorstep, yet only 5 minutes drive to shopping and 45 minutes drive from the CBD. Guest access Pennygreen is our family home, set over two levels. During times that we are not using the house, we are offering for rent the upper level of the house which includes: master bedroom (a double bedroom with its own retreat and direct verandah access); grand lounge room; chefs kitchen; formal dining room; renovated bathroom; laundry facilities; verandah and extensive gardens. A second bedroom or study can potentially be made available on request if required. The lower level of the house is not be available for rent but guests are able to access the laundry if required. Other things to note Please note that this is our family home. We endeavour to set it up like a BnB when we are away, but our personal belongings will remain. The upside of this is that provisions are more generous than a traditional BnB and your experience at Pennygreen will be far more personal! Pennygreen is perched on a hill. This makes for wondrous views, but also means that parts of the block are steep. We recommend that guests park in the parking bays on the road unless you have an AWD and are comfortable reversing in or out of the sloping driveway. Access from the parking bays is via steps or the driveway. The yard is fenced, however, we do not allow pets inside the house. Please talk to us regarding the suitability of our property for your pets. Please enjoy Pennygreen and leave it in the condition it was when you arrived. Damage, breakages or loss are your responsibility during your stay. Any damage or additional cleaning fees may be deducted from the security deposit. Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Check-in time is 3PM. Check-out time is 10AM.
