Mireside Farmhouse: woodburner, Pet Friendly, wifi

Located in the Bassenthwaite meadowlands below Skiddaw Mireside Farmhouse is a unique combination of rural tradition and modern comforts. On arrival, first impressions would suggest that Mireside is still a working farm with sheep and cattle grazing the surrounding fields. Inside, the spacious and characterful solid stone 17th century farmhouse has some charming pecularities but is well equipped, warm and comfortable and ideal for families or groups and their pets too. The space The main living area is a spacious combined kitchen, dining and lounge area. A separate sitting room with a second TV provides a quiet corner for adults or a room for the small ones to play. The well equipped kitchen has an original sandstone floor and all modern appliances. The bathrooms have high pressure showers and there is central heating throughout with a woodburner for cosy evenings. A good sized boot room is great for kicking off muddy boots or drying wet clothes. It is also equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The building is charming but has a few unusual features and there are some low doorways to watch out for! Outside a very large lawned garden with a small stream at the bottom is great for BBQ's and for kids to play. A large well lit barn can be a play area or place to store bikes and boats. Please note that in peak holiday periods (Public Holiday weekends and July an August) short break bookings will only be taken at the last minute. A maximum of three pets are accepted for a charge of £30 per pet. Please let us know how many pets you will bring. The booking form will accept only one fee. A supplementary invoice will be sent for additional pets Strictly no smoking in the house and no charging of vehicles Guest access Guests will have complete privacy in the house and will have the use of the garden and outside spaces. Other things to note There are a number of walks which can be done from the door including Skiddaw or a more leisurely walk along the lake shore.
