Low-impact stay at private Mount Iron Studio

This private self-contained unit has all you need for a short stay in Wanaka and is ideal for couples or solo travellers. We are in a quiet residential area, a short 15-minute walk to the Wanaka town centre and only a few minutes from local walking tracks, coffee caravans, green grocer & craft brewery. We aim to make the studio as low impact as possible, providing recycling, reusables to borrow during your stay, using eco-friendly products & refilling toiletries to reduce plastic waste. The space You'll enjoy a bright and sunny bedroom, with ensuite bathroom with shower, and sliding doors out onto your own private garden courtyard. The bedroom has a super comfy queen-bed and plenty of storage for a short stay. There's also a newly installed heat pump to keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer. The separate lounge also has basic facilities for preparing breakfast/lunch, including a fridge, kettle and microwave. We also provide locally-roasted plunger coffee and tea. You'll have access to our Fibre Wi-Fi connection and gas-heated hot water means the shower will never run cold! Electricity comes from our solar panels. We include a few extra touches to help you minimise your environmental footprint during your trip. You'll find reusable coffee cups, shopping bags and containers for takeaways or packed lunches for you to use during your stay, as well as recycling and home composting for food scraps. We provide body wash and shampoo which we top up at our local refillery, meaning there is no unnecessary packing waste. Guest access You have full, private use of the unit as well as a private patio area which is accessed from the bedroom. Other things to note We have a 4.5 year old son so be aware that there may be some noise at times, however, most days he is at preschool while we both work.
