Baan Ora Chon is an intriguing and interesting property. It's an excellent example of architectural initiative that provides practical, private and incredibly luxurious accommodation on the island's best year round swimming beach. In the south of the island this house still benefits from limited passers by yet has lovely family run restaurants within easy walking distance. The space The grand entrance opens onto a garden area framed by tall stone pillars that add a contemporary feel to a home that maximises the use of natural materials and appears to have been built around the palm trees that previously occupied the space. The hugely impressive pavilion with a central water feature is entered via wide stone steps - the indoor living dining room is fit for a king and opens to allow free flow of air from the ocean. The dining room seats 12 to 50 for formal events, and the sitting room has a full sea view and adjoining terrace.Glass doors and windows run almost entirely around this room creating a very cool, light and comfortable space. Many yoga classes are held in here. There are four double en ensuite bedrooms within this property, all with sea views. Within the main building are a master suite with a kids bunk room downstairs ( a trundle bed - able to sleep either kids or adults if required) Three further bedrooms surround the 17 metres infinity pool than runs the length of the property. One of these doubles has a separate sleeping area for 2 kids on a trundle daybed. The indoor kitchen is used mostly be staff, and the outdoor sala has its own half kitchen for guest use. This is where most meals are taken, and is a great place to relax out of the sun during the day. With sun loungers on the beach, grass and around the pool, there are many places to relax, and to massage and plenty of space for the early morning yoga or late afternoon massage or cocktails. The property has rates for use of 3-5 bedrooms, and can be booked in conjunction with adjacent houses for bigger groups. Guest access We have just launched a 400m2 training gym and training grounds directly behind the house - and if you felt all your group would want to use this facility, we offer a pre-paid discounted rate for your stay of USD200 - otherwise the cost is USD30 per person per day. Other things to note The villa is part of the Chai Talay Estate and can be booked as one of three villas for larger groups, events and weddings. All rooms have queen beds, but we can arrange to have twin share if needed
