The apartment has been with our family from the day the building was constructed in the mid 50s, when Warsaw was being rebuilt after World War II. Starting in the late 18-hundreds our late grandfathers (5 generations) worked in the railway business, and this apartment was given to them for their dedication to the profession. The apartment is in an excellent location when it comes to public transportation. Seen from the Balcony the Warsaw Ochota Train Station is a 2 minute walk and the Central Rilway Station is less than a kilometer away. Our grandfather didn't have to walk far to his train conductor's job, now neither will you. (There is a train and bus No 175 from the airport that bring you to our place). The apartment is on the 5th floor, with a nice view over Warsaw's Western skyline, with a lush green school park down below and skyscrapers lining the horizon. The flat has been recently renovated and combines a modern and funky design with original elements over 50 years old. The apartment is amazingly sunny throughout the entire day and we decorated it with fun colors giving it a really cheerful ambiance. The windows face the South and Western side and you will be amazed how pleasantly bright and sunny it is. For those who like to sleep in pitch dark, just pull down the window shades and you won't know it's daytime outside. We installed special shades that both keep excessive heat from the apartment and fantastically block out the light. Even in the longer summer days, if you want to rest during the day you can simply block out the light and take a comfortable nap. It's a 50 square meter apartment, with two bedrooms, a livingroom with a kitchen and a dinning area and a brand new bathroom with a rainshower. The MASTER BEDROOM is located in a large, cosy and sunny room with access to a balcony. There is a comfortable large double bed (160cm) and a 40 inch TV on the wall, if you want to watch something in bed. You also have a desk and a comforable armchair. For those travelling with childern we can easily fit a children's bed at your request. The SECOND BEDROOM has a comfortable 140 double bed. The room might be a bit smaller than the master one but the decorations and coziness make up for it. The LIVINGROOM has a foldable couch that can sleep two (130cm). There is a 32 inch TV on the wall with cable and an expandable 50's antique large round table. The table normally accomodates 4 people in comfort, but if you wish you can expand it and fit 6-7 people. The table is over 50 years old and our family used to dine at it, enjoying grammas delicious cooking. In the KITCHEN you'll find a large fridge with a freezer, a gas stove, a dishwasher, microwave/oven, washing maschine, coffee makers (italian and american style), a kettle, a toster and a full set of pots, pans, plates & glasses, There is always coffee and tea waiting for you. The apartment also has a iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, clean sets of towels and bed sheets and everything else you might need during your trip: like games, sowing kit, first aid kit, alarm clock, radio. Also for your convenience you'll find Warsaw and Poland guide books, maps, restaurant guides, taxi numbers, list of useful apps to download and more. Guest access If you arrive by car, you'll have access to a gated underground parking just 150 meters from the building. One car only. Please note that this is city center and in this area parking meters are ticking on weekdays between 08:00 - 20:00. Other things to note The apartment is ideal for 2 or 4 people but can also accommodate 6 (big bedroom with double large bed 160cm width + smaller bedroom with double bed 140 cm width + sofa bed 130 cm width in living room). If you are coming with a child, we will fix you a kid's bed and a high chair.
