Historic luxury home with 7 bedrooms & 7 bathrooms

The house is ideal for a group of up to 14 adults, with 7 bedrooms & 7 bathrooms. The house is not suitable for parties, events or any children under 18 years old. This historic estate was built in the late 1800s, and includes a idiosyncratic house surrounded by an acre of gardens. With two large sitting rooms, a dining room, commercial kitchen, tennis court and outdoor dining spaces, there’s plenty of space to spread out. It is in a prime position, just 5 minutes walk to the centre of town. The space The house is on one level, with large comfortable common rooms and every bedroom has their own bathroom - no need to share! The breakfast room receives beautiful morning sun, with a 14-seat casual dining table and plenty of sofas. It is the perfect spot for breakfast and lunch, as well as cups of tea throughout the day by the toasty fireplace. The sitting room has chairs and sofas for everyone to relax in front of the open fireplace. A sunny afternoon table with a chess set and a collection of board games is available. There is a small nook with the only TV in the home - enough for checking a sports score. It receives lovely afternoon sun and is a popular reading space. The dining room has an antique dining table for 14 in a very generously sized room. It is fabulous fun to decorate - bring your own decorations! The kitchen is a commercial style with a large 12 burner stove and 2 gas ovens. There are enough pots & pans to prepare meals for a group of 14 as well as plates, cutlery & glassware. We have large wooden boards for cheese platters and plenty of assorted bowls and serving platters. The main living rooms have gas central heating systems for chilly winter days and in summer, there are plenty of doors and windows to open for mountain breezes. We take great care to ensure beds are well made and warm. Each bed has an electric blanket, down-filled doona & four pillows. Each room has bedside lamps, accessible powerpoints and new, quality bespoke blinds to ensure a good night sleep! Each bedroom has a different heating source - either a gas fireplace, electric wall heater or central heating, some have more than one source. Bedroom 1 - Queen bed with ensuite and spa bath. Bedroom 2 - Queen bed with ensuite and door to garden. Bedroom 3 - Queen bed with ensuite. Bedroom 4 - Queen bed with ensuite and spa bath. Bedroom 5 - Queen bed with own separate bathroom. Bedroom 6 - Queen bed with own separate bathroom. Bedroom 7 - Double bed with ensuite. The word in Blackheath is that Nicole Kidman & Tom Cruise have previously rented the home and slept in room two! All the bathrooms have marble wall and floor tiles - of a similar style to the photos. All bathrooms have hair dryers. The garden surrounds the house on all sides and is constantly changing - spring flowers, hydrangeas, Japanese maple trees, rhododendrons and azaleas bloom at different times and there is always something new. The tennis court has a brand new surface (installed 2021) so ready for your own “Blackheath Open” tournament! We have some racquets available, but please bring your own balls. Mobile reception in Blackheath is hit & miss depending on your provider, so we have wifi in the common areas for your convenience. Please be aware that regional NBN is not as reliable or fast as the city, especially during inclement weather. Due to weather regularly interrupting services, if rain, hail, high winds, fog, freezing temperatures, thunderstorms, lighting, bushfires or other weather systems occur in the days prior or during your stay, we can’t guarantee that wifi will be available. The modem is in the centre of the house - near to the bar area, but please note that the signal strength will weaken/not reach the far ends of the house or outside. The property is not suitable for parties and AirBnB has a strict limit on guests at all properties. The property is not suitable for children under 18 years old due to fish ponds, open fireplaces and furnishings. Any bookings for external services, such as caterers, makeup or other similar services must be approved in advance and subject to further requirements. Failure to receive permission may result in immediate booking cancellation. This includes any booked services through Airbnb. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house, other than a few rooms that will be locked. An acre of gardens are open to wander through as well as use of the tennis court and various seating areas. Access to the home will be arranged after booking - either meeting you in person or leaving a key accessible. There is parking within the property for 10 cars as well as an additional parking area off the street. Unloading cars is easy with one parking space just a few metres from the front door. Other things to note Guests will be provided with bed linen, bath towels and kitchen towels. There is no washing machine or dryer - there is a laundromat located 500m away. Smoking and vaping anywhere on the property is not permitted. There is no BBQ. The home should be left in a neat, tidy and clean state - if extra cleaning is required it will be charged at the hourly rate of $50. Please report any breakages. All damage, breakages and losses will be alerted to you as soon as it becomes known to us (if applicable) and will also be deducted from the security deposit. Check in on Friday is from 1pm, however we also offer a Thursday 5pm check-in for an additional discounted fee. If you would like to take this option, we can arrange this via AirBnb's reservation system. We do not allow charging of electric cars on the property.
