Istana Tara. Istana is a Malay and Indonesian word meaning ‘Palace.’ Travel back in time to celebrate the Art, Soul & Romance of ‘old’ Malaya, in three 200 year old Terengganu Kampong Houses, on an 8 acre Estate. A Malay Royal's heritage country home - that showcases the "Malay World' aesthetic amidst a private collection of ethnic and antique furniture, textiles and artefacts. Other things to note The Istana is mainly for single adults and couples as all the Bedrooms have only Queen and King Beds. Children below 10 years are not allowed to stay as there are many of the Owner's valuable items on display and several safety hazards such as high stairs, open walkways and a very accessible swimming pool.
