Quiet, comfy Port stopover, brekky too!

Welcome to my spacious modern home, 5 minutes drive from the highway. For travellers looking to break their drive up or down the coast, I offer a warm and friendly welcome and a super-comfy double bed with exclusive use of the fully-equipped bathroom which adjoins your bedroom. My house is insulated with air-conditioned living areas and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Complimentary tea or coffee is available and I’ll provide you with a light breakfast of fruit juice, cereal, toast and spreads. The space My house is situated in a quiet residential estate in a street with very little through traffic but there’s plenty of space in the driveway to park your car if you would prefer not to leave it on the street overnight. My local shopping centre is an easy 10-minute stroll away with a cafe, juice bar, bakery and Charlie's takeaway shop which all open early if you prefer a hearty breakfast. The centre also has Turkish, Mexican and Japanese takeaways though these don’t open early. There is a supermarket, news agency, liquor shop and pharmacy for any essential shopping. Ten minutes in the car will take you to either of our two shopping malls and to all of the many cafes and restaurants in the Port Macquarie CBD. Alternatively, the Coles supermarket sells soups, bbq chicken, salads and microwave meals as a cheaper option for dinner. All of the beaches in the area are within a 15-minute drive. Charles Sturt University and Port Macquarie Base Hospital are both within easy walking distance. While my default availability is for 1 or 2-day stays, I welcome enquires from potential guests with short-term study or employment commitments at either of those institutions. Guest access Free unlimited wifi is available and several streaming services are linked to the TV in the main living area. The sitting room is a comfortable space to read, make a phone call or two and watch FTA television. Outside there’s always a spot to sit with sun or shade in either courtyard depending on the time of day. I can make a little space in the fridge or freezer for your essential cold items and you are welcome to use the kitchen to fix yourself a basic evening meal, being mindful that I will be needing to use the kitchen also. I can supply basic condiments and spices as well as cookware and utensils. However I do expect you will clean up after yourself if you make use of this facility. Guests staying more than one night are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer however my hospitality in this area has been abused in the past so I do impose some fair use and time restrictions if you choose to do laundry. During your stay I will be at home to greet you when you arrive and to answer any questions you might have about dining options etc. Port Macquarie has a multitude of things to do whatever the weather, and I will happily offer suggestions depending on your interests. I enjoy meeting and chatting with my guests but I’ll make sure to give you privacy if you would prefer peace and quiet. There is also a small sitting room with a television which you are welcome to use for a quiet space or if your viewing preferences are different to mine! Other things to note Toy poodles Dixie and Lily are my security consultants and co-hosts who love meeting new people! For their sake, and for the comfort of all my guests, I don’t accept doggie guests. They love pats and a game but are not allowed in the guest bedroom or bathroom. Please keep your bedroom door closed. If you don’t like dogs, or are scared of them, then my place isn’t right for you. Please review my house rules before making a booking.
