Both have great bush walks and mountain biking tracks. 35 minute drive to the Château for Skiing and walking. 25 minute drive to the Timber Trail. Take the Forgotten Highway Tours by either train track or jet-boat leaving from the heart of town. The five-day Whanganui River Canoe Experience also starts in Taumarunui.
