Description
Orkney Cottage is a small but perfectly formed cosy traditional stone cottage in the heart of the Highlands - the perfect place for fantastic family and outdoor activity holidays. Its large private gardens border the Highland Wildlife Park so you can see wild horses, camels and buffalo alongside the local wildlife! Ten minutes drive to Aviemore and only 2 miles to Kincraig and Loch Insh watersports. Located right on a cycle path and a short drive to local amenities. The space We have recently upgraded the cottage to provide a cosy living space- decoration, new insulation & carpets throughout, new bathroom/shower, new beds with high quality pocket sprung memory foam mattresses plus upgrading all furniture and equipment to make sure your stay is comfortable, cosy and provides you with everything you need. The triple bunk can sleep 3 kids or two adults - please remember this is a wee cottage not a country lodge! Rope swing in private gardens plus Sony Playstation with games, DVDs, selection of games and books and WiFi for Netflix. Outdoor picnic area with Weber BBQ. Guest access The estate is accessed via the same road for the Highland Wildlife Park. Completely private estate with a handful of cottages and grounds. Orkney Cottage is one of only two cottages with private fenced gardens and private secure storage for bikes etc. Fantastic for kids and access to local outdoor activities. Bike/walking path at the entrance to the estate which takes you to Kincraig (about 1.5 miles), Loch Insh watersports (2 miles), Alvie Estate (about 4 miles) and Aviemore (about 7 miles). 10 minute drive to Aviemore and all it has to offer, less to Kingussie with Co-op and local pub, restaurants, takeaway. Other things to note We're open to discussing allowing small dogs to stay as we love dogs despite not having one ourselves. But the cottage is not suitable for multiple/larger dogs - we are investing a lot in new carpets and decor throughout.
