An optional extra of either full cooked bacon and eggs breakfast or if you prefer berry pancakes. Evening meals slow cooked on the charcoal BBQ can be served by prior arrangement. The views are a panoramic 180° of the picturesque valley, drenched in all day sunshine! Your hosts Shaun and Vanessa, with their three children live in an eco-style home, that generates all its own electricity and hot water from the sun, centrally heated in the winter by the Rayburn wood cooker, with earth block internal wall construction in the main living areas, this house is warm all year round. With cows, donkeys, chickens and ducks, you can enjoy the rural farm experience while staying at this luxury spot. You are booking one queen size ensuite room, which can sleep two adults, including your delicious breakfast served in your own dinning/tv lounge. We can easily cater for a family of 4 or two couples by booking the second bedroom. Perfect place to enjoy your private getaway. Late check outs are a must, as you will sleep so well in this peaceful location. Environmentally Friendly Living At the Twisted Ngaio, we have tried to show that it is possible to live in modern comfort whilst being friendly on the environment. Some of the features incorporated into this home include: •We generate all our own electricity and store it in batteries on site •Significant passive solar design •High levels of insulation •Environmentally friendly wastewater treatment system •Natural building materials including earth construction •Rainwater collection for irrigation •Much of our food is produced on site Guest access Guests are welcome to feed the donkeys. Pat the cows and feed the chickens. In season (summer months) berries are picked daily for you to enjoy with your breakfast. You are welcome to take a look around our small commercial berry operation. Other things to note We have a small selection of wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks available.
