The Old Dairy
The Old Dairy
Description
This place is really the opposite to beige. If you like comfortable, homey, clean, artistic style, you will love Tumbling Downs. The original horse stables are one of the main bedrooms now. The milk-room has become the Loft. A romantic space to sleep. Where the cows were milked it is now the dining room. The holding paddock is the car park! Its unconventional but the feeling will leave a mark on you. Its peaceful but its more than that, it feels healing. People leave here feeling loved up!! The space There is a Pavilion on the left and one on the right. These old buildings are joined by a covered walkway. The bedrooms are located on both sides of the courtyard and the bathroom is in the south pavilion, (which is the left one). Kitchen and dining on the north side. Its difficult to explain the layout but thats the fun of it, there are so many different spaces to find and sit and enjoy. A sunroom with views out into the youngish garden. A courtyard with benches and chairs to sit and read a book. The old Dairy is getting pretty close to wheelchair friendly. Certainly Frame friendly at present.Theres always more to do to make it perfect , but as it is, it sets the tone for a peaceful, even spriritual break from the real world. Guest access The Dairy is for you to use and enjoy. The sheds are not. Its best you dont go walking through the sheds exploring as there are often dogs , large kangaroo bucks with there girlfriends and joeys lazing about down there! The front lawn and views are yours to use. you are welcome to go for a walk up the driveway, its about 1.6 km there and back. The garden is only 6 years old but it’s private and devine. Grab a picnic rug and enjoy it! Sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate. Other things to note Keep your fires stoked so they don’t go out. I do have small heaters in the bedrooms just in case it turns cold. Bring crocs or inside slippers or shoes to go from one pavilion to the other, if its raining the walkway gets wet!! just a warning. Bring layers of clothing The Southern Highlands can have 4 seasons in 4 hours.! Registration Details Exempt
