Impossible to find better views and space all of Vermont at this price point. Inside the home you will find everything you need. A fully equipped large kitchen for cooking for large groups and two living rooms with seats for many and a dining table for 12. The interiors are well appointed, the accommodations high end and comfortable, and the farmhouse vibe is accented with modern design flourishes. Outside you have a huge park like lawn to walk and play on, fantastic for kids and dogs. We have many established flower beds and a large blueberry patch and apple orchard for your enjoyment depending on the season. Walk our path through the hayfield to our private woods to explore truly wild forest and a babbling brook. We are very child friendly and have lots of toys for inside and outside as well as an amazing playroom and children’s books. There is also a wooden crib, a pack and play, two high chairs, a stand in walker, changing mat and a stroller available for your use. Guest access There is room for about 6 cars in the driveway. Other things to note Secluded enough to be completely private, yet convenient to area attractions and fine restaurants. Located in the beautiful town of East Calais/Plainfield. 15 minutes from the state capital Montpelier and 15 minutes to Cabot Cheese Factory. 30 minutes to Waterbury, and 30 minutes to the Northeast Kingdom with its Hill Farmstead (highest rated brewery in the world), Parker Pie, and miles and miles of the most pristine hiking and fishing and swimming east of the Mississippi. Burke Mountain is 45 minutes away, with its world renowned mountain biking trails in the summer and ski runs come winter. VAST trail access on our road for snowmobile and cross country skiing enthusiasts. This is Vermont's Lake Region, and you can find some of the most beautiful and clean lakes and swim ponds in the world around here. The best are #10 pond (the cleanest lake in VT) and Curtis Pond. At Curtis Pond there is a large boat ramp, a great dock for swimming, and you will find the most charming general store in existence, that also makes amazing sandwiches, called Maple Corners. These lakes are both less than 10 miles away. For dining in Montpelier there is Vietnamese (Capital Pho), Indian (Namaste), a great Italian restaurant (Sarducci's), and a new 5 star, farm-to-table restaurant (Oakes & Evelyn). There is also an array of other hits like Mad Taco, Uncommon Market, pizza, Mexican, Chinese, etc. And of course, the world famous beer bar - Threepenny Taproom, where you can sip fresh Hill Farmstead Brews on tap. (They also make a killer burger). 30 minutes away is the town of Waterbury with noted restaurants - Hen of the Wood, Prohibition Pig, Blackback Pub, and The Reservoir. If you want to stay real local, there is the amazing Positive Pie in Plainfield, the Marshfield General Store, and a new hipster market/cafe/bar/art hang out spot called Fox Market. (They also serve spot on Rotisserie chicken Thursdays-Saturdays, and cheeseburgers the rest of the week). Under an hour away from all the famous ski resorts - Burke, Sugarbush, and Stowe.
