Other things to note There are wonderful bike paths along the beach. We like to ride south to Brighton Jetty and north to Henley Beach. Both places have lots of restaurants. There is also a great bike path that takes you all the way into Adelaide. It runs next to the tramline most of the way and even takes you through the West Terrace cemetery which is really historic. Marion Shopping Centre is a must for anyone in need of retail therapy. It is just 6km away. The South Australian Aquatic and Leisure Centre is right next door to the shopping centre. Harbour Town is about 4 km north at the airport. The outlet stores have terrific bargains There are great day trips from Glenelg. A drive to the Fleurieu Peninsula is picturesque. You can take in the McLaren Vale wine region, Victor Harbor and my favourite south coast beach, Port Elliot has a lovely walk around the headland. If you want to surf Boomer Beach and Middleton have the waves.
