The landscaped area with flowering plants, low-rise slate walls, gravel pathways and grassy lawns offers the ideal spot for a sunset barbecue, sun worshipping, afternoon picnics or stargazing. Other things to note We support local businesses and charities whenever possible and have reduced the number of single-use plastics across our Lake District rental cottages. We donate £5 per stay to good courses, all electricity is provided by a 100% renewable provider and we are installing bee boxes and bird feeders to encourage biodiversity. Over the last three years we have donated over £1300 to Coniston Mountain Rescue and Cumbria Community Foundation and we have recently started working with charity Something to Look Forward To. In 2021 we hosted 6 families impacted by cancer diagnosis. These ‘gift’ stays were provided to give families respite and enjoy a memorable getaway. Throughout 2022, we will also be supporting Fix the Fells, a local charity helping to maintain 330 upland paths, and assist wildlife and fauna in the Lake District. Booking Mountain Cottage helps us to continually support these charities.
