*** Featured in Sunday Times "Europe's 50 Best Villas" *** Villa Pascaul is a 250 years old, beautifully refurbished country house. The owners, whilst metamorphosing the Finca into a comfortable holiday home, have retained the stone walls, many original features and artefacts and along with these, all of its character and charm. The spectacular location, amongst the mountains and close to the footpath that leads from Pollenca to the Lluc Monastery is ideal for those who wish to have a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature and away from all tourism Solid double studded wooden doors open directly into a spacious living room where wood beamed ceilings and shiny terracotta floor tiles are wonderfully welcoming and create a cosy atmosphere added to by the comfortable sofas and chairs and satellite Tv (limited channels/news only). a stone inner archway leads through to a separate dining area with double doors to the rear terrace. The spacious and modern kitchen, next to the dining area, is totally equipped with a large fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob and a dishwasher. From the lounge area, stairs leads up to the first floor where three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin share a full bathroom. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, romantic sloping ceilings and windows overlooking the spectacular mountains all around. There is a daybed on a gallery ‘sitting room’, should you require four bedrooms and a small shower room on the ground floor to relieve the pressure of the morning rush. The stone terraces surrounding the Villa offer a choice of seating areas from which to enjoy the inspiring views, seen from every angle. Stone steps lead from the natural mountain garden to a terrace where paved sun terraces surround a natural, spring fed, swimming pool. The peace is total, interrupted only by birds song and sheep bells and, occasionally after heavy rainfall, the sound of a gushing waterfall spilling down from the mountains can be heard. The villa and pool is for your private use only as well as the garden. Bed linen & towels are provided as well as pool towels. The cleaner will come in during your stay & change them, depending on how many days you are staying. All of this is included in the price. Freelance Villas provides a Digital Guide Book, which tells you all about the important things ie. WiFi codes, hot water systems, where to take your rubbish & how things generally work in the villa. Plus, you will find further details about places to go, beach maps and eating out guide. A local contact is provided to you for any issues you may experience whilst in the villa, and we at Freelance Villas can be contacted via AirBnB messaging. Pollenca, Mallorca (Majorca) El Pont Roma, the roman bridge on the edge of the town is living evidence of Pollencas Roman origins and subsequently each generation has left its mark without overwhelming this delightful small town. In this way, Pollenca has learned to accept and adapt to tourism without losing its soul and where, these days, at the vibrant Sunday morning market spilling out over the Placa Major, locals and tourists alike mingle between the wide varieties of stalls. Wandering through the narrow cobbled streets you will find many lovely old churches plus numerous small art galleries and handicraft shops. A pause for coffee and a pastry is recommended before climbing the tree lined Calvari steps - there are 365 of them, one for every day of the year - amply rewarded at the summit by panoramic views across to the northernmost tip of the island from the Calvari church! If you are here during Easter, then you will be lucky enough to witness the moving procession on Good Friday, when a figure of Christ is removed from a cross and carried down the steps by torchlight. The months of August and September have much to offer music lovers as Pollenca hosts its annual classical music festival with many concerts and at any time of year, bon viveurs will find a number of outstanding restaurants as well as small tapas bars tucked away behind the impressive central square. Outside the town the rolling countryside is excellent for walkers and for a day by the sea, Puerto Pollenca with its lovely beaches, is only a 5-minute drive away. Nearby there's a good but hilly 9-hole golf course. Vall de Pollenca, Mallorca The old road, through the beautiful Vall de Pollenca winds some 6 miles between the Pollenca Hills and the towering Tramuntana Mountains, connecting Campanet to the picturesque Old Town of Pollenca. These days the road, now surpassed by the faster motorway, is used more by cyclist than vehicular traffic. Singled out for its beauty by the rich and famous the hillsides are discreetly scattered with rambling top notch villas, amongst which our Villas are tucked away enjoying this unsurpassed location from their more modest accommodation. The village of Campanet, situated on the edge of the green and wooded foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains, one claim to fame is its amazing limestone caves, said to house the longest stalactite in the world! It also makes a good starting point for an exhilarating drive to the mountain top Monastry at Lluc via the picturesque village of Caimari. Amongst the village's narrow streets are no less than three bakeries, as well as a well-stocked supermarket and a delicatessen. The sunny church square has a number of simple bars and small shops and it's a pleasant spot to linger over a morning coffee and sugary ensaimada before heading off for the day. There are also two or three bars that serve authentic tapas or simple meals, but the village has surprisingly remained a peaceful backwater, virtually untouched by tourism. At the other extreme of the valley, the picturesque old town of Pollenca has learned to accept and tastefully adapt to tourism so that at the vibrant Sunday morning market spilling out over the Placa Major, locals and tourists alike mingle between the wide varieties of stalls. Wandering through the narrow cobbled streets you will find many lovely old churches plus numerous small art galleries and handicraft shops. You will find a number of outstanding restaurants as well as small tapas bars tucked away behind the impressive central square. For serious shoppers, the town of Inca, famous for its leather goods and with some excellent cellar restaurants, is a 20 minutes drive. For a hassle free visit to Palma you can catch a train from Sa Pobla, 10 mins drive away. The nearest beaches at Puerto Pollenca or the Pollenca Bay side of the Alcanada peninsular are approx. 20 minutes drive. The Pollenca Golf Course is less than a 15 min drive away. A car is needed to explore this beautiful area. Palma 65kms Included services - Swimming pool: Services available according to season Opening date: 01/04. Closing date: 31/10.
