Casa Taberna: 2 person ADULTS-ONLY (18+) holiday home on ground floor of small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. In the past this part of the farmhouse was a grocery shop and café where locals gathered around the fireplace. Now it’s a comfortable and attractive holiday home where the restored tiled fireplace is still a true eye-catcher. At a few steps from the holiday home you find your private garden terrace. The beach, fishing village Fuseta and the lagoons of Ria Formosa are only 4km away. The space Through a front porch (shared with one of the other holiday homes) you enter holiday home Casa Taberna (45m2), one of the four 2-person holiday homes in our small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. Holiday home features (all private): - The holiday home has a semi-open layout. - Through the front porch you enter the kitchen, with plenty of storage space, various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. - A door then leads to a large room, where the grocery shop and cafe used to be in the past. This space is divided by low walls, creating intimate places for eating, living and sleeping, while at the same time preserving the spaciousness of this special room. The original restored tiled fireplace is an eye-catcher in the room and can be seen from all angles. There are a dining table, large fixed corner sofa and a sleeping area partly shielded by low walls and curtains. - A comfortable king size bed (180x200cm). - Through an open passage and 3 steps you come to the dressing room, with space for your personal belongings and suitcases. - The large closed bathroom with toilet, washbasin, walk-in shower, towel radiator and mechanical extraction is adjacent to the dressing room. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are available. - For both cooling and heating, an air conditioner with cold/warmth exchanger is available. - All windows in the house have double insulated glass and mosquito nets. Private terrace (30m2): A few steps away from the entrance of the holiday home, under waving palm trees, a private garden terrace is created with a dining, lounging and sitting area and both shade and sun. This cosy private outdoor space, which is adjacent to the communal garden, is surrounded by lots of plants for added atmosphere and privacy. Communal garden: In our sloping Mediterranean garden (5000m2) which is playfully and attractively decorated, you can enjoy different colours and flowering plants and (fruit) trees in every season. To cool down, there is an outdoor shower and a lovely salt water plunge pool surrounded by flowering plants, olive and almond trees. There are several relaxation areas created to be able to retreat into the sun as well as the shade, and to enjoy a snack and a drink alone or together with other guests, listening to the birds and the cicadas. The sunrises and sunsets and clear starry skies are often a pleasure to watch. General information about the accommodation (adults only 18+): Small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota, situated between fruit, almond and olive groves in the rural countryside of the beautiful Eastern Algarve and close to the beach (4km, Fuseta), offers 4 spacious holiday homes in an authentic Portuguese farmhouse, where persons from 18 years can stay with us. In this way we offer a place to people who want peace and quiet without children. The holiday homes are suitable for 2 adults. The farmhouse has been fully renovated (2020) and all the holiday homes are very comfortable in every season and smoke- and pet-free. Surroundings: The beach of the lively fishing village Fuseta is nearby (3km). From here, and also from the beautiful coastal towns of Tavira and Olhão (both 15 minutes' drive), there are boat connections to the paradise islands off the coast. The beautiful nature reserve Ria Formosa, with salt production, lagoons and many birds, is very close (2km) and offers many walking and cycling opportunities. There are also lots of nice restaurants, various shops, supermarkets and places of interest at a short distance. The nearest restaurant is a 20-minute walk away.
