Affordable Family Cabin

Franklin is part of McBains lodge, named after the (ghost-writing) author of The Hardy Boys, Franklin W. Dixon. The up-cycled tool shed is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds, and makes use of an outdoor bath and shower that it shares with Jack Cabin next door. The cabin has it's own exclusive deck but shares the communal toilets and showers. It is downstairs, to the right of the communal open deck (with hot tub) and braai area. Ideal for a small family or friends happy to share. The space Franklin Cabin is part of McBains and is a rustic, low-key, cosy option for a small family or bunch of mates who are not too fussy and happy to be part of the action, but then can also escape the action when they need to. It's located just off from the main house, and is 20m away from the shower and ablution facilites (in the main house). It also features a new outdoor bath and shower that it shares with Jack. Guest access We have permanent managerial staff (Lucky and Calven) at McBains. They will assist you with any offloading, and are available for advice on where to walk and what to do in the area. They work tirelessly to keep McBains a clean space. Please feel free to ask them for anything specific that you may need. Tipping (on departure) is at your discretion. There’s a ‘hamburger’ piggy bank for staff tips at reception. During your stay Please message us when you start coming up the pass so that we can open up for you. That should take 15 minutes then for you to arrive. Expect no signal as you start to climb the pass. Other things to note There is a R100 once-off fee per pet.
