Situated close to the city of Glasgow, Peel Lodge is only 20 mins by train from the city centre, 30 miles away is Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and Ayrshire. Edinburgh and Stirling can be reached in an hour. Shop, pub/restaurant 1 mile. The space Peel Lodge is a unique, interesting property. The original part is grade B listed and was built in the 18th-century as the gatehouse to The Peel, a fortified residence which dates back to 1642. It is a 6 sided stone building with a chimney breast along the centre, this creates a partition which separates the kitchen on one side and an open fire in the lounge/dining area. The building has been extended to create two bedrooms a bathroom with shower over bath and a utility room which houses the boiler, washing machine/drier and freezer as well as plenty of room to store bikes and outdoor equipment. The finishes are natural, from the wooden flooring to the natural stone fireplace reaching up to the vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden roof trusses. It has been fully restored to a high standard, double glazed, centrally heated with a modern kitchen and appliances. The property has been decorated and furnished by a professional interior design company. The back garden is totally private it has an enclosed fenced area useful for dogs with outdoor furniture and a barbeque as well a larger grassed area surrounded by high hedges.
