Quinta da Arieiro, a centuries-old house, today adapted and fully equipped to welcome those interested in nature, cultural and gastronomic tourism. With capacity for groups of up to 9 guests, with generous areas, private parking and all the necessary amenities for short or long-term stays. The perfect place to unwind and take advantage of all the services, products and landscapes that Arouca has to offer - the ideal combination of history, culture, sport and nature. The space Quinta do Arieiro, a private property dating back to 1846, was built within the heart of our family, where it remains after more than 5 generations. A secular house, that embodies the perfect conjugation of history, culture and nature. Right in the middle of the Arouca Geopark territory, located in Santa Eulália, about 2km from the center of Arouca, 50km from Porto and 60km from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. The building has two fronts: the national road (N224), facing north, from where guests can access the carpark; and a second front, facing south, with magnificent views such as the well known “Senhora da Mó” and the famous “Serra da Freita”, and confronted by fields of corn and vines. Outdoor Activities: Arouca region is abundant with activities, such as: - Pedestrian routes around Arouca’s Geopark - suitable for all levels of physical preparation; - Radical sports, that awaits the most adventurous at Rio Paiva (Paiva’s River): rafting, kayak, canyoning and climbing, to name a few; - Passadiços do Paiva (Paiva’s Walkways) and the 516 Arouca (Pedestrian Suspension Bridge) - attractions not to be missed. Cultural Activities: Guests can also visit the historical center where the famous “Convento de Arouca” (Arouca’s Convent) lives, along with its rich “Museu de Arte Sacra” (Holy Art Museum). Gastronomy: As far as the local gastronomy is concerned, guests won’t be less than surprised by the regional variety of food. From fish, meat or vegetables lovers, all tastes will be satisfied by the quality of Arouca's locally produced ingredients. Here, the offers abound and the typical Portuguese hospitality most certainly lives. Quinta do Arieiro is a unique and very well equipped house, both for short and long stays. The perfect place to unwind and take advantage of all that Arouca has to offer. Guest access Guests will have at their disposal the total area of the house. Other things to note Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in the interior of the house. The alternative are the many exterior areas, such as the balcony (equipped with an ashtray) and the gardens (cigarette buds to be collected by the guests). Petfriendly: Quinta do Arieiro is pet-friendly, therefore, all interior areas are available to them. We kindly request of our guests to monitor their pets and inform the host of any damage that may occur during their stay, for posterior request of a refund via Airbnb, if applicable.
