See the listing at: Rustic Ardèche sheepfold without any neighbors The space The little extras of our sheepfold: From October to the end of April, maximum capacity 8 people. - surrounded by nature without neighbors - linens provided at no extra cost. From February 2025, we will no longer make beds upon arrival (load too heavy for the team – thank you for your understanding) - in winter, mountain chalet atmosphere with fireplaces/wood and pellet stoves - on the other hand, given recent climate changes, it is necessary that at least one vehicle is equipped with snow tires or chains / socks - smokers and pets allowed - barbecue, brazier, pizza oven, - 2 dwellings 15 m apart, one for noise, the other for sleeping peacefully - 2 hammocks for naps - well-equipped house to avoid bulky luggage (e.g. tea towels, sheets, microwave, 2 filter coffee makers, 2 toasters, bread machine, raclette, fondue...) and all the products of 1 st necessities because we come every month to recharge our batteries. - washing machine - dishwasher - 2 fridge/freezers - petanque court (lit at night), darts, board games - a small pond below - for the youngest: a sandbox, 2 swings, a cabin in the woods - walks from 20 min to 4 hours directly on site without taking your car - the check-in and checkout are carried out by one of our neighbors who can, if you wish, bring you a good little meal… - Wi-Fi - no TV :-) Before you decide, check that the style of the sheepfold suits you: - We deliberately wanted to keep the simple and authentic character of this sheepfold. Although it is well equipped with heaters, appliances and board games, it has been fitted and furnished over time through donations from our families, friends or flea market purchases. Hence its slightly vintage and timeless look. - In some rooms, the floor in large basic planks is vintage as well as the floor of the living room is still in concrete in places a little worn, there is no tiled outdoor terrace or shelter but only grass (heeled shoes not recommended)… Also if you are looking for modern and trendy accommodation, you may not appreciate your stay too much. - Grimpeloup is 750 m above sea level on the north side of Ardèche, so remember to always bring a good sweater, anorak/hat/gloves as well as good shoes for walking - from October to April, you will need to reload the pellet stove every 15 hours. In the sheepfold, there is an oil stove, the operation of which will be explained to you upon your arrival, and for warmth, a central fireplace, wood-burning stove. - with the climatic hazards, you can encounter snow. It is also better that at least one vehicle is equipped as if going skiing (snow tires and/or chains). - Here nature is king and it resumes its rights as soon as we leave it. You will come across a multitude of insects, see here and there holes of field mice and moles and maybe even a few deer or foxes. - The first neighbor is a 15-minute walk away. Hence this impression of the end of the world and without risk of disturbing the neighbors. - The flowing water is the water from the spring that all the locals drink. Taste it, just to see, it's delicious. But if you prefer, bring your bottles of mineral water (we generally count 2 liters per day per person, including hot drinks) - To access Grimpeloup, you have to follow an unpaved forest road that climbs steadily for 1.4 km. All our friends and other travelers for 4 years, have been able to reach our house BUT on one condition: STAY IN 1st gear and follow the signs! - We do not allow any motorized vehicles to pass through the property but mountain bikers, walkers and horses can pass and greet you. We're counting on your courtesy. - The wifi in the sheepfold is not always very fast, it is better to surf in the old house (an ethernet cable can allow teleworking) - The outdoor furniture is deliberately simple and country style: also for large tables you will use the 2 large boards and trestles as well as the benches - So, do you want to spend some time in our sheepfold?
